After the rest of Monday and all of Tuesday and the school part of Wednesday it was time for Maki to go meet Kaito
She wasn't excited at all, all she knew was she had to meet him at some cafe, after school she drove to the cafe, when she walked in Kaito was sitting there
She walked over and sat across from him an annoyed look on her face "talk."
"Alright, I know what I told you the other day makes me seem super bad, but I swear I'm not always that bad"
"So, let me tell you the good things about me, all I need is an hour or two" he promised
"Fine, Only because you aren't being a dick just yet" Maki decided
After a while of taking, Maki found herself laughing "you're joking, I don't believe that for a second" she said
"I'm serious! Every Thursday after school!"
"There's no way you help out at a retirement home, I could believe that literally anyone else could, but you? Never" Maki decided
"I'm serious! I'll prove it, tomorrow after school come with me! You can actually see it with your own eyes" Kaito replied
"There's no way, do your friends do it too?" She asked
"Nope, they don't even know I do it so don't mention it to anyone, so you in?" He asked
"Fine Only because I'll never believe it until I see it" Maki replied
Kaito actually smiled, not a cocky smile, a genuine smile "great! I'll give you address tonight, and I'll get out of your hair now" he said standing up
"As much of a dick you are, not all of you is absolutely terrible" Maki said as he walked towards the cafe door
"See just like I told you, I'm not all bad" he smiled then left
Maki felt herself smile as well as she stood up and walked towards the door
She actually might have had fun, but she'd never admit that. And she still would never, ever fall for him.
Now Thursday morning Maki walked up to her locker, as she was grabbing her stuff, on routine Kaede walked up to her locker
"Hey Maki! You in a better mood today?" She asked hopefully, she worried a lot about Maki if she didn't Who would
Maki smiled "much bet—" Maki was cut off by her locker being slammed
"Maki in a good mood? Unheard of" she turned around to see Kaito with his cocky smile
'Guess he cant stand being nice for more then a few hours' she thought
"Fuck off Kaito" she said simply then walked off, Kaede following her
The day went by rather quickly she wasn't annoyed by Kaito the rest of the day
After school she drove to the retirement home Kaito apparently volunteered at on Thursday's, she still want convinced and it was probably just some joke to piss her off
But to her surprise Kaito pulled up about the same time "you actually came" was the first thing he said to her
"You too, I'm shocked really how could a person like you volunteer at such a nice calm place like this?" She asked
"Like I told you, I'm not all bad, even if that's all I show at school, that's not how I always am, you're judging a book by its cover" he replied
She sighed and followed him in
"Kaito hello! Who's this?" The lady at the desk
Maki was shocked, he must not have been lying if he was known here
"This is Maki" Kaito replied, Maki waved, unlike him the lady seemed nice and harmless
"Did you finally get a girlfriend?" The lady asked with a laugh
Maki about passed out "Oh no it's not like that, Maki's a.. friend" he replied
"Oh I see" The lady replied "well I won't keep you here for too long, you can go on in" she smiled
As they walked in Maki had to ask "Since when were we friends?"
"What did you want me to say, 'oh this is Maki she hates my fucking guts and I'm a huge dick to her but we made a bet and shit like that' ?" Kaito asked
"Fair enough" Maki replied
After about three hours of watching Kaito do things for elderly people, he finally told her they could leave, once they left the building he asked
"So what did you think? I'm not that bad now am I?" He smiled
Maki sighed "No I guess not" Kaito's smile widened
"BUT that doesn't mean I don't hate you any less, or that I like you at all! So don't think you're winning!"
"Okie dokie" he replied
"See you at school Maki"
"You mean, See you at school where I'll be an annoying asshole all day?" Maki replied
"Pretty much" Kaito replied
"Bye" Maki replied the got in car, leaning her head on the wheel
"So two sided" she mumbled before she started her car and started to drive home
She would never admit it to anyone but maybe Kaito wasn't all terrible
