The second week flew by, Maki was with Kaito 4/7 days that week, they didn't do much just talk
It was strange to Maki, how someone could be a total dick at school, and be so different outside of school
He was nice, fun, caring once you got to really know him, but she swore she wasn't falling for him and she told herself the same thing every day
It was now Monday, the first school day of week three of four, Maki did her normal morning things, met up with Kaede at her locker and talked for a few minutes
After her first few periods Maki walked into the cafeteria to her and her friends normal table
"Hey Maki" Rantaro said as Maki approached and sat down
"Hey Rantaro" She said more cheerfully then usual
"What up with you? You seem happy" he replied
"Just this week and next week then we won't have to worry about being bothered by the asses again, I'm excited" Maki replied
"So you're winning then?" He asked
"Of course I'm winning" Maki responded, but truly she wouldn't tell him, but she wasn't sure anymore
Rantaro laughed "I knew you would be the whole time"
Lunch flew by, Maki had normal conversation with all her friends, after that she went to her last few classes of the day
After school she went to her locker and grabbed her stuff, when she pulled out her phone she saw a text from Kaito
'Meet Me at the ice cream shop in 20?'
Usually when she got a message from Kaito she'd be annoyed, but she felt herself smile like an idiot when she looked down at the phone
After realizing what she was doing she shut her phone off 'that never happened' she thought then closed up her locker and left
She went to the ice cream shop like Kaito's text said, and there he was waiting
"You came, after not getting a response I was kinda worried" he said standing up and walking over to her
"You were worried I wouldn't show up?" She asked
"It's not like that! But I have two weeks left and I need to use them!" He replied
"Why are you so set on torturing my friends and I" She asked
"It's not that, I don't care about that, I just don't like losing"
"Yeah well you're gonna have to suck it up because it's happening" Maki replied
"Are you sure? You don't even like me just a little?" He asked
"No!" Maki replied 'Maybe, NO' she thought throwing the thought out of her mind instantly
After getting ice cream they decided to take a walk around the little part of town, there were just little shops so they could get back to their cars within 10 minutes
As they were walking and eating some kid on a bike came by, hitting Kaito's ice cream straight out of his hand, and all over Maki's shirt
"I swear it wasn't my fault" Kaito said getting genuinely scared of what Maki would do
"Uh huh" she replied then threw her ice cream at him "Only Fair"
"HEY THIS SHIRT WAS EXPENSIVE" He yelled
"I'll pay for it if you can catch me" Maki said, leaving Kaito confused as she started running off
Kaito ran quickly after her, but Maki was faster, she ran quickly to the park, Kaito chasing after her
As some kids came running Maki had to stop, leaving Kaito time to grab onto her wrist and pull her back
"I win" he said letting go of her wrist
"Yeah fine" Maki replied "I'll give you the money once we go back to the cars" she added
"Nah it's fine, I lied it wasn't that expensive"
"You ass!" Maki replied
Kaito laughed "oh and sorry about your shirt even if it was an accident and not on purpose"
"It's fine just a shirt" she replied
"That's the first you didn't yell at me for something like that" Kaito realized
"Guess you are finally getting used to me huh?" He asked
Maki scoffed "As if! I only said it was okay because you weren't a huge ass about it" she replied crossing her arms
"Okay Okay, come on we should probably go back" he decided
"Yeah" Maki replied, then suddenly she felt his hand grab hers
"What are you doing?!" She asked feeling her face turn red
"It'll be faster if I drag you since you're slow" he replied and started dragging her away
Maki looked at the ground as he pulled her around, she didn't know what she would do if anyone ever saw this
Once they got back to their cars they said their goodbyes, once Maki got in she banged her head on the wheel
"There's Just no way" she said to herself "I'm not losing., it's not feelings, just a fluke" she told herself as she sighed and started her drive home
