Falling for him

Maki hadn't been with Kaito since Monday, but he was a continuous dick throughout the week at school, because god forbid he was nice there

It was Friday now, nine days from them the bet would be up, and at the moment Maki was afraid she could be losing

After school Friday Kaito walked up to Maki at her locker

"Do you need something?" Maki asked

"I'll pick you up at eight be ready" was all he said before running off

'What now?' She thought as she watched him walk off

After she got home she relaxed for a while before getting ready, for some reason she found herself trying to look nice, she didn't know why

Instead of her normal twin tails Maki but her hair up into a messy bun, and she didn't wear her normal clothes, she wore black leggings and a white tee shirt that said 'go away'

Around 7;50 she left her room ans made her way downstairs

"Going somewhere Maki?" Her Mom asked

"Yeah, I'll be back later" Maki replied

"Where you going?" She asked

"I'm not sure really, a friend is surprising me" she replied

"Oh okay, have fun" her mom said, with that Maki got on her shoes and went outside sitting on the porch waiting, it was only about 8 minutes before Kaito's car pulled up

She stood up and walked towards the car getting in "You look different" he commented

"I can't look the same all the time can I?" She asked

"You got me there, anyway close your eyes, you can't know where we're going until we get there"

"Should I be scared?" Maki asked as she closed her eyes

"I haven't taken you to some kind of cult yet have I? Why would I now?" He asked

"It's you" Maki replied

"Oh come on I'm not that bad and you know it" He replied

"Whatever Kaito" she replied

"Did you actually call me by my name?! I'm shocked!" Kaito said in shock

"Whatever can you just get going already, I hate having my eyes closed"

"Oh yeah sorry" he replied then started driving, it was about a 15 minute drive before the car stopped

"Can I open my eyes yet?" Maki asked

"No! Not until we're in there"

"How am I supposed to walk?" Maki responded

"I'll help you" Kaito said then got out of the car, and walking to her side opening the door and grabbing her hand to help her out

After closing the door he held her hand as he walked

"It's super loud" Maki commented

"Yup" Kaito replied

After a few minutes Kaito let go of her hand "Okay open!"

When Maki opened her eyes she saw rides and games everywhere "the fair?" She asked

"Yup!" Kaito replied

"I really was expecting to be brought to a cult" she said

"Come on! This is gonna be fun!" He said taking her hand again and starting to run dragging her after him

After Kaito dragged her on a few rides, she felt herself actually having fun, why? She wasn't sure yet but all she knew was it was Kaito's fault

For the next few hours they went on rides and played games, the whole bet thing slipped out of her mind, this wasn't just because she was forced anymore, it was choice

"Isn't this fun?" Kaito asked as they walked around, taking a small break from everything

"yeah, it is" she replied

Kaito smiled "See like I've been telling you, I'm not all bad"

Maki sighed "I guess not"

A second later Maki felt herself being pulled into a hug, but instead of freaking out of smacking him, she let him hug her

"Thank you" He said

"For what?" Maki asked

"Giving me a chance to show you who I really was, I can't do that with many people" he replied

Maki felt herself smile "being forced to hang out with you, isn't all that bad, you know a few weeks ago I couldn't even look at you without glaring"

Kaito laughed "I know"

"I may not be able to do this to the school side of you, but I can call this side of you my friend, I never thought I would be calling you my friend

Kaito pulled her closer still hugging her "Were friends?" He asked

"Yeah" Maki replied

Kaito looked like he was about to say something, but then stopped himself "Come on let's go, it's getting late"

"Yeah good idea" Maki replied following him out

The drive back to Maki's was quiet, there wasn't much to say until they got back to her house

"Thank you, I had fun" she said before getting out of the car and walking up to her porch and going inside

Kaito smiled as he watched her walk inside "damn you Maki" he said to himself

"Why do you have to be so fucking cute?" He asked himself, as much as he played along that he hadn't lost the bet, he had and he'd known it for a while now

Maki went up to her room and got changed, then flopped onto her bed, she heard her phone buzz then looked at it it was Kaito

'Goodnight'

There it was again, her smiling like a complete idiot looking at her phone, she turned it off and threw it to the end of the bed, slamming her face into pillows

"What are you doing to me you ass?" She mumbled, as much as she tried to deny it, she couldn't anymore, she had feelings for him and that's something she couldn't help
