"Eunji, please look at me," I begged, gently squeezing her hands in mine. Eunji bit down on her lips, tears falling down her face as she hastily pulled her hands out of mine, still refusing to look up at me. I let out a sigh as I scratched the back on my head before leaning forwards and pulled Eunji into a tight embrace. Surprised, Eunji stopped crying for a second and glanced up me, a fearful look in her eyes, but before I could say anything to her, she was looking down at the ground again.

"Eunji... Can you please just look at me? Look, I'm not mad at you. Not at all. I just want to know how long Minjoon's been bullying you," I quietly muttered as I slowly pulled away from our embrace and placed my hands on her shoulders. Eunji wiped away the tears streaming down her face and took a deep breath before glancing up at me again.

"Since the first day of school... Kim Minjoon has been bullying me since the first day of school," Eunji whispered, slowly pulling her gaze away from me. She hung her head down low, going back to avoiding my gaze. My hands fell from her shoulder as I took a step back, my eyes widening when I heard Eunji's statement. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"What happened?" I quietly asked, curious to know what happened between the two of them. Eunji closed her eyes and took a deep breath as I reached out and took her hands in mine, in attempt to calm her down. Surprised to have her hands in mine once more, Eunji opened her eyes and weakly smiled as I began stroking the back of her hand with my thumb.

"It was during lunch... I was walking by him in the lunchroom and I accidentally tripped over someone's backpack. I ended up spilling my lunch over him. I tried to apologize but Minjoon just dragged me somewhere outside the cafeteria and beat me up and everything just pretty much went downhill from there," Eunji sobbed. Wanting to make Eunji feel better, I let go of her hands, pulled Eunji into another tight embrace and began stroking her hair.

"Eunji, you can stop crying now, I'm not going to let him bully you anymore," I whispered as I tightly squeezed Eunji. We stood there for a while, our arms tightly wrapped around each other's waist, enjoying each other's presence before Eunji pulled away. I stared at her, wondering if ask her if there was something wrong, but before I got to ask, Eunji asked me something that caught me off guard.

"Will you really Taehyung? Will you really protect me from Minjoon? You promise?" Eunji asked as she glanced up at me with a hopeful look in her eyes. I stared at her, biting down my lips until I could taste blood and held my breath, hesitating to answer Eunji's question because I didn't want to be making promise to her and then end up not being able to keep my promise.

"I... I promise. Just... Please Eunji, next time something like this happen, just know you can always talk to me. I'm your best friend, I won't judge you like others would. You can always come and tell me these things," I said in a reassuring tone. Eunji nodded and smiled at me as wiped away the rest of her tears before pulling me into another tight embrace.

"Thank you so much Taehyung, I'm so glad I have you in my life," Eunji sighed, causing me to smile in relief before hugging her back. Just as I wrapped my arms around her, the bell rang, signalling the beginning of the school day. I laughed as I bent down and picked up our bags, handing Eunji's her's before heading towards the door. I glanced back and smiled at Eunji, who running to catch up with me before heading back down the stairs. Once at the bottom of the staircase, the two of us began cheerfully walking towards class together.
