Lee Eunji

The very next day, Taehyung and I returned to school. I took a deep breath as he firmly held onto my hand, tightly squeezing it as we walked into the building. The moment we stepped foot inside, people began to look up and stare at us, quietly whispering things to one another. Normally, I'd be having a nervous breakdown but somehow, I felt at ease knowing that Taehyung was here by my side.

When we approached the hallway where our lockers were located, I was surprised when I saw that Minjoon wasn't waiting around our lockers like he usually was. Noticing that, I couldn't help but begin to tense up, afraid that Minjoon would appear out of nowhere, ready to give me a hard time again. Taehyung noticed right away and quickly reassured me, reminding me that he promised not to let Minjoon harm me.

As the school day continued on, I found it a little strange that he never once showed up. I mean, I felt somewhat relieved knowing that I haven't seen him yet meanwhile, at the time, it was more than nerve-wrecking because there was a slight chance that Minjoon could suddenly show up again, right when I least expect it and the thought of that completely terrified me.

When the bell rang, signaling the beginning of lunch, Taehyung and I stood up at the same time and together, the two of us began heading towards the staircase leading to the rooftop, neither of us wanting to be stuck in the chaotic lunchroom. As we were nearing the staircase leading up to the roof, we ran into Sungjae, a close friend of Minjoon's who was nothing like that annoying jerk.

"Ah, Sungjae!" I called out, suddenly stopping in the middle of the hallway before turning around to face the back of his head. Noticing I wasn't following him anymore, Taehyung turned back and gave me a strange look before glancing up at Sungjae, who was now turning around to face us. As Sungjae turned around, I could see that there was a look of confusion on his face, but was instantly replaced with a surprised look the moment he saw me.

"Eunji! Oh my god, are you alright? You're not hurt anymore right? I heard what happened to you and I just wanted to say, I'm so terribly sorry that you had to go through all that," Sungjae cried out, bowing down as he apologized. As he came back up, I flashed a friendly smile, reaching up to scratch the back of my neck while shaking my head before responding to him.

"I'm perfectly fine. Really, I am. You don't have to worry so much about it now. It's all just a thing of past Sungjae. To be honest, I've actually been wanting to wanting to talk to you all day. It's just... I've just been wondering if you know where Minjoon is right now since it's kinda weird not seeing him around," I responded, nervously scratching the back of my neck. Sungjae stared at me, raising a brow before responding to me.

"Minjoon? You guys don't know about it yet? He got expelled from this school," Sungjae said with a light laugh. Upon hearing the words coming out from Sungjae's mouth, my eyes widened as I felt my jaw drop to the floor. I quickly glanced over at Taehyung, who wore the exact same facial expression as me, before turning my attention back to Sungjae.

"Yeah, a bunch of people saw him beat you up, nearly killing you, and so, as a punishment, the principal expelled him from the school for endangering a student's life," Sungjae explained, chuckling as he began walking off. I let out a sigh of relief, knowing that the two of us no longer had to worry about Minjoon messing with us. We were finally free. Smiling brightly, I turned around to face Taehyung, who bent down and kissed me on the forehead, before whispering something in my ear.

"I love you Eunji."

"I love you too Taehyung."
