AN- I think this song is about a woman who's been hurt previously from bad relationships and she decides not to let anyone in until she meets this man that made her melt and sees love differently.
But like all the others, he hurt her. Her friends are warning her about him, saying he's bad news but now she's opened up and fallen in love; she doesn't know how to stop. She doesn't want to hear the bad because he's her everything.
And love made her weak.

You were sitting quietly in a coffee shop, sipping your hot beverage as you scrolled through Tumblr. Looking at all the loving couples filled you with jealousy as you wanted so desperately to have what they had. You had been hurt too much and told yourself to never trust anyone again.

You were soon approached by a handsome, brown haired man. " Is this seat taken?" He asked with a slight smile tugging at his lips. Your brain wanted so badly to say yes but your heart was telling you something different. Almost as if you had no control, you nodded your head and took out your earphones.

You and the man (who you later found out to be Brendon) sat and talked for what felt like hours. You could sit and talk to him all day, just getting lost in his dark chocolate eyes.

Something about Brendon made you feel safe and made you trust him. You knew it was happening again, but you ignored it. He seemed loving and sweet and caring. He made you weak at the knees with a single smile. Despite everyone telling you otherwise.

Your friends tried desperately to get you to break up with Brendon but you wouldn't. You believed that he was different and that he could heal you. That he could love you, and that he was the one.

You two had just gotten into a big fight and you were sitting on your bed, with your head buried in your knees as you tried to control your sobs.

You heard a brief tapping at your bedroom door. Swallowing the lump in your throat you replied. "come in".

Brendon poked his head around the door and gave you an apologetic smile before entering with a bouquet of flowers.

"I'm sorry, love. Please forgive me."

Their piercing sounds fill my ears, try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that their goal is to keep me from falling🎶

You sat in your friend's living room, ignoring the rant she was having about Brendon, and about how he was just like everyone else. Saying how he would hurt you the way all your past lovers did. But you did what you always did.

Even though you knew she was only trying to save you from the heartbreak and trauma at the end, you still kept ignoring her.

He gave you a hug as he exited the room to answer a phone call. Doubts filled your mind as you thought of who he could be calling. You suddenly felt empty and lonely. Brendon soon came back and just seeing his face made your worries melt away and you once again felt whole and complete.

Were you being crazy believing that he was the man for you?

By now you were completely in love but it hurt so much. It was almost like a cup of hot chocolate. It looks so inviting, Sweet, comforting but diving straight in would burn and sting.

By now you knew that Brendon was cheating on you. There were secret phone calls and sudden trips away that brought it to your attention. One night you had decided to follow him.

"I have a meeting early tomorrow morning and the venue is several miles away so instead of waking up early I'm gonna head off now love. Is that ok with you?" Brendon asked whilst putting his coat on.

"Yeah, you do what you have to do, babe." You replied with a small smile.

"Thanks babe, your the best" he claimed while planting a kiss onto your cheek before exiting. You were already wearing all black so you blended in pretty well. You slipped out the front door only seconds later and started following the man.

Not two minutes later, your worries had been confirmed. He knocked on her door and as soon as she opened it his lips were on hers. Feeling betrayed you walked home.

It broke your heart.

But being the stubborn and forgiving person you were, you ignored it. You kept telling everyone that your relationship was fine and that they were all wrong about him. You were so scared of loosing him that you lied to your friends, your family and yourself.

So every time he left, you told yourself it was your fault. Every time you got in a fight, you told yourself it was your fault. And every time that you would cry or feel down, you told yourself it was your fault.
