Chapter 10- Third Person POV

Meanwhile…

A figure appears in the middle of the Hades Cabin and looks around. There’s no one there, which the person notes with satisfaction. He closes his eyes and concentrates. Seconds later, his appearance changes. He becomes shorter, his skin becomes paler, and he grows shaggy black hair; a skull ring appears on his left hand. He looks exactly like Nico di Angelo.

Mere seconds later, the door of the Hades Cabin bursts open. A frantic-looking Annabeth Chase hurries in and spots the person.

“Nico! Have you seen Callie?” she asks, eyebrows scrunched together in worry. ‘Nico’ shakes his head, feigning a confused expression. “No. Who’s Callie?” he asks curiously. Annabeth pales. “Oh gods, no. She didn’t come in here?” she asks, hanging onto on last thread of hope. ‘Nico’ shakes his head again and replies, “No, she didn’t. Who is she?” he asks again. The thread breaks, and Annabeth says hopelessly, “The new camper. Daughter of Hades.” His eyes widen in shock. “She’s my sister?” Annabeth nods frantically. “Yeah. But there’s no time to explain! She’s been missing for almost an hour! Are you sure you haven’t seen her?” she asks desperately. ‘Nico’ shakes his head again, but stops. “Wait. Yes! I think I have! I saw someone with long, straight black hair, fairly tall and tanned, head into the woods. Does that sound like her?” Annabeth gasps in relief and horror. “Yes! That’s her! But if she’s in the woods, then…” she doesn’t finish, but they both know what she was going to say.

An untrained demigod, alone and wandering through the woods? She was dead meat. Literally.

“We have to send out search parties. We can ask the dryads if they’ve seen her. Can you shadow-travel around and look for her?” Annabeth asks. ‘Nico’ nods in agreement. “Yeah. Good luck,” he says, and Annabeth leaves the cabin. He hears Annabeth shouting orders to the campers, and watches from the window as they all flock to the woods.

‘Nico’ smiles evilly. The plan has succeeded. No one will know. The mistress shall be pleased.

       And he disappears.
