Chapter 15

Well, now I've got another mystery to solve, I think dejectedly. Power over the weather; who knew?

I'm sitting on my bed in the Hades cabin, my head in my hands. With a groan, I flop backwards onto my bed and stare up at the ceiling, which is unsurprisingly painted black. I sigh and crawl into the covers, turning off my lamp.

"Night, Nico," I call out into the darkness.

"Night. Now shut up, I'm trying to sleep," comes his muffled response.

I laugh lightly and pull the covers up to my chin. I close my eyes and pray silently for no dreams.

Yeah, right. Like that's going to happen.

In my dream, I am on Olympus.

The architecture is amazing; smooth white marble columns and graceful archways that I know is Annabeth's work. I walk forward, marveling at the grandness of Olympus. I keep walking, toward the throne room-I have no idea how I know how to get there; it's like a pull in my gut, guiding me in the right direction.

I enter the throne room. All of the Olympians are there, including Hades. Hades smiles when I enter and says, "Welcome, Calypso."

"Callie," I automatically correct him.

"Callie?" a surprised voice sounds next to me. I turn and blink in surprise.

"Percy? Annabeth? Nico? How... how are all of you guys here?"

As far as I can see, all of the cabin leaders are here in my dream, along with a bunch of other campers I don't recognize.

"Demigods!" a booming voice shakes me out of my thoughts. I turn to see Zeus staring down at us-I have no idea how I know that he's Zeus.

"We are gathered here today-" he starts.

"Please don't say 'To join these two in holy matrimony'," Percy interrupts. I can tell that Zeus is struggling to restrain his anger-- his eyes are wide and sparks are flying from his beard.

"As I was saying," he continues with a glare at Percy, "We have summoned everyone at Camp Half-Blood who we deem trustworthy. We Olympians are here to explain the full extent of Callie's powers." The demigods gasp and mutter, shooting glances at me. I glare at them in return, and they immediately turn to face the gods instead.

Hades speaks up. "Callie, you were close when you suggested that you could be a descendant of a child of Poseidon," he says. "Actually, you are descended from Perseus, the original Perseus, son of Zeus." All of the campers gasp in awe.

"When you were born, we, the gods, knew that you were very powerful," he explains. "As a daughter of Hades and one of the most powerful modern demigods, and a descendant of Perseus, you were to become a goddess."

My eyes widen, and I feel my mouth drop open. "You mean-you mean I'm a goddess? But then how-what-" I splutter, speechless. A goddess? I couldn't be a goddess! My tormented thoughts whirl around in my head.

But Hades only smiles and waves his hand, as if he were shooing a fly. "No, child. Instead of becoming a goddess, you could be blessed with powers from each god, and that is what we did," he says reassuringly.
