Shiro, Pidge, and Keith stepped out of the hangar with Lotor following behind.
"Shiro! And....Lotor?" She glared at the Galra emperor. "What is the meaning of this?"
Lotor took off his helmet and bowed gracefully. "I would like to make peace. The old emperor is dead and I wish to right my father's wrongs." He smiled up at her.
Allura didn't seem convinced. She looked up at Shiro who turned to Keith. Allura tilted her head in surprise as she followed Shiro's gaze to look at Keith.
"We need to hear him out... we can end this war without any more bloodshed."
"I don't remember giving you the authorization to decide on behalf of Voltron..."
"Allura..." Shiro pulled her aside to talk.
Keith looked over to the two as they talked in hushed voices. They seemed to be debating quietly, going back and forth. Finally, Shiro smiled softly and Allura mirrored it. "Emperor Lotor, Would you care to stay as we discuss the truce?"
"I don't want to trouble you..."
"Oh it's no trouble at all..." Keith could tell that Allura's smile was forced but said nothing about it as she led Lotor to the sitting room. "Shiro, get Coran. I want both of you to be a witness for this... truce."
Allura turned to Keith for just an instant, but he could see the caution in her eyes. It was as if he brought a wolf in to stay with a flock of sheep. Keith began to doubt that he made the right decision in bringing Lotor here.
"Keith?" The voice was small and cautious.
Keith turned to Lance and stiffened. He looked away quickly. What the quiznak was he going to say to Lance? He can't face him. He messed up so bad. Why couldn't he have just said yes? He blushed as Lance stepped closer.
"Hey, I'm sorry about earlier... I didn't plan to... propose like that." Lance fidgeted nervously. "And I completely understand if you don't want to. But this doesn't.... ruin our relationship, right?"
Keith couldn't bring himself to look up at him. His heart pounded. Say yes and marry him, you fool! His thoughts screamed to him. "I...don't know..." There was too much going on in his head at once. He was beginning to feel dizzy. "Just..." he growled, glaring up at him in frustration. "I NEED SOME SPACE, OKAY?" He shouted harshly. Keith wanted to erase his words immediately when he saw Lance's reaction.
Lance stared back in disbelief, his blue eyes shining with the start of tears. "Okay..." His voice broke as he took a step back. "I'll give you some space..."
No! This was all wrong! Keith didn't want this at all! He needed Lance closer! He didn't allow himself time to think before he grabbed Lance by the collar of his jacket and threw him against the wall, pinning him there.
"Keith?" Lance stared at Keith's glowing yellow eyes in fear. "I-I said I was leaving! Calm down... please?" He tried to wriggle out of his grip so that he could reach out to him, but Keith's claws were digging into his skin with an iron grip. "J-Just breathe... okay?"
"I want you..."
He looked back at Keith in a mix of confusion and comcern. "Y-you were just telling me to give you space and now you want me... WHAT THE QUIZNAK DO YOU MEAN BY TH--" Lance was interrupted by Keith's lips against his. Lance froze before closing his eyes as he kissed back.
Keith loosened his grip on Lance's arms, allowing Lance to pull him closer, tangling his fingers in Keith's hair. He smiled softly as he bunched up Lance's jacket in his fists, his claws shrinking down to their original length as he began to turn back again. He opened his eyes as he broke away.
"I'm sorry for running... I just... I'm not exactly good at the whole relationship....thing. But I want to be..."
Lance smiled softly. "You don't have to be good at it, Mullet Head... it's not like I'm gonna quiz ya." Lance smiled until he noticed Keith's frown and hugged him.
Keith nuzzled into Lance's neck. "I'm sorry... I really am."
"Hey. No... don't be. It's your choice and I'll wait as long as I need to until you're ready. Don't do something just to make me happy 'cause I want you to be happy too." He kissed his head before continuing. "Even if you are an angsty purple furry."
Keith pulled away to look at him. "Okay, You were doing well until that last bit."
"The whole Galra thing gave me so much opportunity... I couldn't just pass that up. I made a list."
"You did not!"
"You're right. That was a lie," Lance laughed. You should see your face though!"
Keith rolled his eyes.
"You actually believe I sit around making lists of names for you!"
Lance wiped his eyes and smirked as he booped Keith's nose. "Such a cute lil kitty boy."Keith rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Ironically enough, I know that you do have a list. You keep it hidden under your bed."
Lance blushed. "H-how did you know..?
He smiled knowingly. "I didn't. Just a lucky guess." Keith moved away from him and started walking to his dorm. He looked back at Lance and smirked.
Lance's eyes widened and quickly followed behind him. Keith grabbed Lance's jacket with one hand while opening the door of his dorm with the other. He kissed Lance roughly as he pulled him inside and shut the door behind them.
