jealously: Chapter 6

Me and Danse stroll up to the rotted door. It looked like he tried to repair it but gave up in the process, I would do the same if my door was destroyed by a nuclear bomb. As we step onto the unstable patio, Danse fidgeted in his jumper pocket for the key. After a while of digging around in pockets we stepped into his house. One step in, the fireplace's warmth rushes over me but to our surprise, a skinny, tall blond girl  steps up to us. Her face looked like one of a goral. She'd looked like she'd been waiting there for a while and every minute we stood in silence she got more furious. "so, I'm gone for four years Jeremy and this is how you treat our relationship!" her angered voice was like a high pitched chirp. I looked over to Danse, he stood there speechless "Nikki, is that you?" he asked "Of course its me. So, you give up your spot at the vault for me and then you go and cheat on me!" She stared at me "where did you find her huh. For a outlander girl like her she does look untouched by the radiation, Jeremy answer my question!" Danse was panicked, I needed to help him. "Hey, no need to get all worked up I can explain,"  "go on then outlander," "well I uhm was walking around and Jeremy found me so he offered me a place to sleep so the gorals wouldn't kill me, you've got yourself one heck of a man there." Danse stared at me, I stood without any movement trying to stop my face from blushing, of all the times Danse helped me its about time I helped him. "Nikki, I thought you died out there," "so you think I dies and moved on so quickly!" They continued their argument while I was eye balling the door. I turned my back to leave but I heard some familiar noises, Groans from the ferals. I shot around to see Nikki wrestling me to the floor, she went for my neck. Arms pinned to my side and a once stable human now a blood thirsty monster. She went for the bite. I closed my eyes. 

No pain. When I reopened my eyes, Nikki wasn't struggling to kill me she was next to me. Lifeless. I turned to her. She didn't have a head and crimson dripped from her neck. I screamed and ran through the door, slamming it behind me, I never dared to look back. Before I knew it I was lost in the woods, it was near the morning -telling by the sun- there's no point in sleeping now. Why did I run from Danse? I felt the guilt rush over me, I was so scared by him that I couldn't stay any longer. I can't face him again I need to hide until I gather the courage to apologize. Soon enough, it started to rain more or less I felt so weak that I crawled under a old tree and cried. I cried until my eyes hurt. I was alone, lost, isolated. I cried through the whole day taking breaks to take bites out of a sandwich that the doctor gave to me. Soon enough I was falling asleep, I gathered a few leaves and hide behind a bush. I closed my eyes and rested.
