'My dearest Zietto,
This letter is being sent to you with the expectation that you will read it to the others. Pietro is writing for me, so any mistakes are to be attributed to him.
He's already threatening to leave me for that comment, and if he does, you will never get this letter. So if you receive it, it means your worst fears are still happening and I am fuc— in a relationship with him. I saw he crossed out my way of describing out relationship, so I hope whatever he chose is even cruder.
Everything willing, we are going to travel the world together. I will come back to you, always and often, and I want to assure you that I still consider myself to be your, meaning the Avengers, daughter. I know I made mistakes, not that you would hold them against me. To explain though, my worst fear was you leaving me, so I tried to prevent that by breaking our ties first. Pietro has helped with that. He is good for me, I think. As good as I am for him.
As we explore, I want to do what you did for me. I want to find those like me and give them a reason to live. To do that, I will need money.
And so we see my ulterior motive for writing to you. You already saw we have fifty nine of them, currently kept in your California beach house but they cannot stay forever. And I cannot look after them alone forever. I want funding to buy a large house, hire people, and protect those like me.
I'm sure you will give me all I require, if not I will appeal to other members of the Avengers. And by appeal, I mean harass them until they force you to pay me.
I love you, please don't say I'm throwing my life away again. I'm taking my GED in two months, write a killed application and start college next year. I'm getting my psychology degree, whatever it takes and I like the idea of becoming a professor to make the charity more legitimate. I want to protect the Panfortis...although I hate that word. We've been coming up with alternatives, something to separate from us C.R.Y.P.T.
Mutant is my favourite. I don't know what it is about it, it just feels right. Panfortis was forged, Mutant was born.
And they were born like this. I know fuck-all about genetics, but it seems like once the original Panfortis were experimented on, their children also received powers. Alastair and C.R.Y.P.T. started impregnating them, that's why there were so many kids and none my age. It's horrific, you wouldn't stand for it so neither will I. For the first time in a long time, there's no underlying fear about who I am and what could happen next. I've always struggled with my past and this thing with my brother, no matter how horrible has helped me deal with it and given me a mission.
Share this with the others. I've unblocked everyone on my phone now so if you need to contact me, do it whenever. Wanda will be on her way back to you soon, perhaps with another member for the Avengers called Kore De Luca. She's an original Panfortis and was my best friend, you may have seen her on the news but it's not true. Probably. Let us know how Wanda is, take care of her.
Take care of yourself too. I'm trusting you and Steve to get along.
From your favourite Avenger and child, Alessandra Esposito-Stark-Rogers-Romanoff-Barton-Banner-Thordottir'
"Happy?" Pietro asked, rolling his eyes as he finished Alex's name.
"Very," she replied with a grin, "You?"
"Could be better."
"I know." Alex and Wanda had talked using telekinesis last night, a long talk about C.R.Y.P.T., Pietro and what was happening with Kore. It was hard to tell with Wanda, but Alex could have sworn the girls voice was slightly different whenever she said Kore's name, it was softer, breathier, even when she was describing the semi-mute energy-stealer that was trying to kill Kore.
It had eased Pietro to have some contact with Wanda, even more so when Alex had convinced Wanda to go back to the Avengers and help Kore from the sidelines. The twins had spent their whole lives together and while Pietro knew he couldn't follow Wanda forever, it was easier to keep tabs on her and find her whenever he needed too when she was with the Avengers.
Alex crouched down and tucked part of the letter under the door mat so it wouldn't blow away. They were about to teleport the Panfortis to another one of Tony's houses, not for long, just until somewhere more stable was found. Pietro hovered nervously next to her, tapping his fingers on his side, saying stuff that Alex wasn't entirely listening too.
As she stood back up, she began to tune back into Pietro's questions,
"So, does that mean we're teachers now? Will they call me Professor Maximoff or Professor Pietro?"
Alex snorted, "Professor stupid-tro."
His forehead creased in confusion,"What?"
"I don't know, Quickshit, your name is hard to nickname."
"Well then don't!" He grabbed Alex roughly, jokingly but the kiss her pressed to her cheek was soft, "Ready to go, Professor Alex?" His voice caught on the X as it always did, emphasising the letter harshly compared to the softness with the rest of his words.
"Professor Alex." She repeated, "sounds dumb as fuck."
"Language! Jesus, we'll have to call you Professor X-Rated."
"Are you even allowed to say Jesus?"
"Jesus knows."
"Get thee to a temple," Alex teleported a knife into her hand and waved it at Pietro, who laughed and made a few slow attempts to grab it. When he succeeded in grabbing Alex's wrist, he just used it to pull her closer towards him. The knife was teleported away as Alex put her arms round his waist and they both leaned in to kiss, slowly and sweetly.
Eventually they broke away, although Pietro couldn't help himself and brushed Alex's hair away from her face so he could press his lips to her cheek. His next words were mumbled against Alex's skin, in a soft voice she had rarely heard him use before,
"Come on, Professor X."
