When it's meant to be (Hayes Grier)

Chapter 8

We get home and I instantly run to the kitchen, I get a cookie and go over to the couch. I decide to scare Matt. I tip toe over to him and slap my hands down on his shoulders. He screams like a girl while I drop to floor in laughter.

"Oh my god Leila, why did you do that?" he yells. I'm still laughing and he joins in at that moment.

"I'm sorry I just had to do it," I say in between laughs.

I hear the front door open and Hayes and Cameron walk through the door.

"Guys we're going to dinner with Bart in an hour, dress nice!" Cameron yells through the house.

"Guess I'm home alone tonight," I whisper to myself.

"Oh yeah Leila, Bart said he wanted you to come tonight to," Cameron adds. I smile. I actually get to go, I've never been asked to go to dinner with the guys and Bart before.

"Ok," I say to him then rush upstairs.

I get dressed in a pink dress that goes down to my mid thigh with a thin brown belt around my waist, a black blazer and black ankle boot heels. I add pearl earrings, a diamond bow necklace, a bow ring and a white clutch. I apply foundation, concealer, pink eye shadow, mascara and pink gloss. I curl my hair and and put a white bow in the back.

I was trying to impress Hayes, I just wanted us to be friends or even more than that. I walk downstairs and I stand in the kitchen. I hear someone walking down the stairs. Nash. I walk out to the living room.

"Hey Nash," I whisper. He turns to look at me and smiles.

"Trying to impress someone I see," he says.

"Way to point that out captain obvious," I sarcastically say.

"Who is it?" he asks.

"Please don't tell anyone,"

"I won't,"

"Hayes," I sigh.

"I knew it!" He yells happily. I laugh at him.

Hayes comes down the stairs at that very moment. I look at him and smile.

"Hi Hayes," I say quietly.

"Who are you trying to impress?" he asks coldly. I look down

"Someone," I whisper.

"I'm sorry Leila, I didn't mean for it to come out like that," he apologizes. He lifts my chin up to look at him then he walks away.

**AT DINNER**

I sit next to Cameron and Hayes sits on other seat next to me. I look at him and we smile at each other. Then Carter comes over, pushes Hayes off his seat and sits next to me. Hayes gets up and runs out of the restaurant. I get out of my seat and run after him. I'm outside but I can't see him anywhere.

"Hayes, Hayes where are you?" I yell.

I look around but I still can't see him.

"Hayes, please where are you?" I yell again as I drop to my knees. I put my face in my hands and cry. I feel a body lift me up, put me on their lap and hold me in their arms. I look up and see him.

"Hayes?" I ask.

"Yeah, it's me Leila, I'm here," he whispers.

I get up and kiss him. He kisses back. We pull away.

"It's you Hayes," I whisper.

"What's me?" he asks

"I was trying to impress you," I answer. He smiles.

"Lets go back inside, you look cold," he suggests, I nod.

We walk back inside and sit back down. I see Bart has arrived.

"Well, Leila the boys and I have been talking and we were wondering, would you like to join Magcon?" Bart asks.

"Yes, thank you so much!" I exclaim.

**AFTER DINNER**

We arrive home and I go to my room. I change into pyjamas and walk into Hayes's room. I really didn't want to sleep alone and I didn't know why.

"Hey Leila," Hayes says. I walk over to him, sit on his lap, put my arms around his neck and kiss him. His arms find their way around my waist. We finally pull away.

"Hayes I like you, I've liked you since I met you, when I saw you making out with that girl by your locker my heart broke, you didn't have to pretend to like me back," I breathe. He leans forward and kisses me again.

"Leila Dallas, will you be my girlfriend?" he asks.

"Yes, yes I will," I whisper and smile at him.

We then fall asleep.

**NEXT DAY**

I wake up and see that Hayes isn't next to me. I go downstairs and see a note on the kitchen counter. I pick up the note and read it.

Dear Leila,

Will you go out on a date with me tonight? If yes, dress casual and meet me at the beach at 3PM.

From Hayes <3

Of course I'm going to go on the date, I can't just leave him there by himself. Nash is coming down the stairs, I run over to him and jump on him.

"Ow!" he yells. I get off of him and smile like an idiot.

"Why are you so happy?" he asks

"Hayes asked me to be his girlfriend last night and he asked me to go on a date with him tonight," I answer, almost screaming of excitement. He jumps up and down screaming like a girl.

"Oh my gosh that's fantabulous!" he yells in a fake girl accent . I join in on the screaming moment.

"What's with all the screaming?" Cameron, Matt and Shawn ask.

"Hayes asked me out," I say trying to act calm. They join in screaming.

"When is the date?" Matt asks.

"Tonight,"

"Where?"

"The beach,"

"You know I heard there was a fair near the beach here somewhere," Cameron adds.

"Oh my gosh he might be taking me to the fair!" I yell excitedly

I hope this date goes well.

Wasn't that just a romantic chapter? I think this is the longest chapter I've ever done. And it has over 1000 words. GO ME!!!!
