chapter:The Truth part one

Fifteen Years Later

Happy laughs and childish screams filled the atmosphere as Skyler and Luna played together. "I'm going to get you eventually!". Luna shouted in a joyful manner; She was dressed in a long -sleeved blue dress with dark blue leggings and baby blue flat shoes. Skyler leant down in the snow srunching up a ball of snow into her hands before throwing it at Luna." Ouch!". Luna yelped. As she fell to the floor with one hand covering her left arm and rubbing it smoothly. "Alright girls time for dinner". A female voice called. The children looked over to their cottage where a women stood; She had long brown hair like the earth and the chocolate eyes to match. Instantly the girls ran over to her and bolted there way inside. When inside the girls and their Skylers mother sat eating upon an old wooden table. The cottage was small but cost, a fire was lit at the end of the room, it's flames low but sustainable. After dinner the girls went back outside. As the sun was setting Luna began to make her way home turning and waving quickly at Skyler." Bye!". Luna shouted. Skyler replied with an elegant smile and also waving her hand in the air.

The night moved on as Skyler tucked herself in bed she pulled open her curtins to allow the pure moonlight to shine it's way through. She then lay herself down her icy eyes faced the sealing then turned to look out her window towards the sky as the sun vanished behind the clouds. The hours passed peaceful without any interference. Unitl. A loud bang exploded in the air, immeadiately Skylers mother bursted into her room with a frightened expression on her face." Mother, what is it?, whats wrong?". Skyler said in panick. Her mother fled to the window to see the fire Elementals make there way through the town destroying the people's homes. " We have to go now come on!". She replied pulling Skyler from her bed. They ran franticly down the stairs. Skyler put on her blue shoes along with her dark blue leggings and light blue robed top." Here take this". Her mother said, whilst handing her a bow and arrow. Skyler took a brief moment to take it all in before she and her mother ran to the back of the cottage making there way over to the woods. "Go run!". Her mother shouted as the soilders raided the town. Skyler began to sprint as fast as she could. Fianly they made it and had hidden themselves behind a couple of bushes where they would be safe for now. As time passed Skyler and her mother watched as the soilders tore away ther town. Skyler could do nothing but look in terror as the events unfolded in front of her. Suddenly Skylers mother knelt down beside her but remained silent, the atmosphere was too quite like all sound had simply vanished. "Skyler, there's something I have to tell you". She said quietly. Skyler instantly turned to face her, her icy eyes were filled with curiosity as the seconds passed by." What is it?". She replied with a suspicious expression on her face. Her mother took hold of Skylers pale hands and clenched them firmly within her own." You know that we could always tell each-other everything right...". Her mother said dragging on the conversation Skyler looked at her with a great deal of confusion." Okay... one day fifteen years ago, our town was raided by the fire Elementals....they came with great anger as they searched in what seemed like forever to get what they were looking for". She said, her eyes never left the focus of Skylers but Skyler didn't understand she tilted her head in a confused manner before her mother spoke again." Well, that day when they came they gathered all of our townspeople together in a line......but the strangest thing was that day well that was the very same day I found you.... of course you wouldn't have remembered as you were only a baby. I found you all alone at the bottom of a hollow. However I couldn't find your parents so I brought you back here where you were safe. At least I thought you were but now I see I was wrong". She said. Skylers face was lit with question and disbelief as she was told." So your not my real mother.....everything you told me,was a lie?". However the women did not answer she just simply nodded her head as her eyes became overwhelmed by emotion. "Who are you then?". Skyler said her voice shaken as she spoke." My name is Lyra...".
