What makes you feel better

The world is a bad place
And I think everyone knows

This feeling of drowning, although there is nothing to drown in
Nothing but our thoughts

This feeling of being tired of living, although there is so much to live for
And so much to die for

But there is light
In the darkness
And it will help you to see things in a different way

I'm not saying that one day, you will step out of this dark tunnel in a better world with endless skies and no rain
I'm not saying that everything will be fine

But if you find this light, it will guide you through the darkness
It will be your friend and your hope in lonely nights
The journey will not be over, but it will be easier to handle

New storms will come, but you will have your storm lamp lighting up the dark
There will always be stones in your way, but if you don't lose hope, if you trust your light, you will be able to see them
And you won't fall

Sadly, I can't tell you how to find your personal light
There is no tutorial, no universal validity
You can't go to a store and buy it, like you would if it was an actual lantern

I could talk on and on in metaphors and figures of speech
But it won't help you
I could write page after page and draw pictures in your mind
And you would probably laugh at me

Because I'm so naiv
And maybe I am
Maybe I haven't experienced enough of this pain to understand your position
Maybe I'm way to hopeful at day
Cause I can only see the shadows when they are haunting me

But I want you to remember that life has it brights sides
And even though they seem to be far away
There is always some light in your heart

So do whatever makes you feel better

Go out and search for the light that lives inside of you
Because once you find it, you will have a shoulder to lean on
A save room to return to if life doesn't go well

Don't lose hope friends
