Eunice's POV

Time skip to a few weeks later (the part where they were supposed to leave China)

We are about to sail to Edo to search for General Cross. Ellen and I are sitting on the mast of the ship when my right eye suddenly activated.

"Everyone, AKUMAs are coming?!" I shouted as I activated my innocence. At that exact moment, hundreds of AKUMA appeared on the horizon.

"Innocence hatsudo," Bookman, Ellen, Kroy, and Lenalee said as we prepared for the ambush. However, we were all surprised when the AKUMAs just flew past our ship. Well, except for one that stopped right in front of Ellen.

"What are they doing?" I asked with a confused expression on my face.

"That is none of your business, exorcist," the AKUMA that stayed behind spat.

"Why aren't you with the rest of the AKUMA?" Ellen asked. Her voice had a flat tone to it, which startled me. She sounded like she had no emotions at all.

"Because I have a message for you from the Millennium Earl," the AKUMA answered. We all turned to look at the AKUMA. Curious about what it was going to say.

'What does the Earl want with my sister?' I thought slightly worried for my sister. I inched closer to her. Not really close, but enough to be able to attack the AKUMA if needed.

"What is this message from the Earl that you speak of?" Ellen asked.

"He said 'My precious musume, Ellen-chan. Your mission to spy on the pesky Black Order pests is finally over. It is time for you to return home. I have already arranged for one of Road's doors to appear in a few minutes.' " the AKUMA said.

Everyone stared at Ellen with a betrayed look. My heart dropped at those words.

Ellen tossed her exorcist cloak up in the air and used her Innocence to shred it into pieces. "Finally."

"Do you need anything else, Ellen-sama?" the AKUMA asked.

"Iie. You may leave and join the others," Ellen ordered. The AKUMA bowed to Ellen before it flew away.

"Ellen, you're working for the Earl. But – why?" I stuttered as I shook my head. Not believing a word of what I just heard.

'Iie. Ellen is my twin. She would never betray me like this. This has to be some sick prank that the Earl thought of.' I thought desperately.

Ellen turned to face us. A malicious smile graced her face. There was no trace of the long lost sister that I was just starting to become familiar with once again. Her skin then turned grey and seven stigmata appeared on her forehead. "I am not just an exorcist, Eunice. I am the adoptive daughter of the Millennium Earl. I am also the 14th Noah, the Noah of Destruction."

"How could you do this? You are an exorcist?!" Lenalee shouted angrily.

"I'm going to say a quote from a book I've read, 'It is our choices that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities'. And I chose this side of the war," Ellen stated.

Suddenly, Ellen's earrings transformed into an umbrella that resembled the Earl's. The only difference is their colors. Ellen sat on the umbrella as one of Road's red and black checkered door appeared.

"Until we meet again, exorcists," Ellen sang in a tone that was eerily similar to the Earl's. And with that, the umbrella flew towards the door.

As Ellen left, all I could only stare at her in horror and betrayal. One of my enemies happens to be someone whom I care for. Worst of all, it was my own onee-chan.
