Night XIII

Eunice's POV

Once we all got back to Edo, Cross started yelling at me. This caused everyone to look at us.

"I TOLD YOU AND YOUR SISTER TO STAY AWAY FROM MANA WALKER BACK THEN BECAUSE NOTHING GOOD WOULD COME OUT OF IT?! BUT DID YOU LISTEN TO ME. NO. IF YOU JUST FUCKING DID, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE BLOODY HAPPENED."

This surprised everybody. Nobody knew that the General met the twins before.

"HOW WOULD STAYING AWAY FROM MANA PREVENT ALL OF THIS FROM HAPPENING. HE - he was the only person who was ever kind to us back then. Everyone else would call us names, such as demon spawns, freaks, monsters, abominations, and many more They also treated us badly. SO TELL ME HOW STAYING AWAY FROM HIM WOULD PREVENT ALL OF THIS FROM HAPPENING?!" I yelled back.

"How well do you really know Mana Walker besides the fact that he is a clown?" Cross asked.

"Um-"

"(sigh) You don't know much, do you? Well, Mana Walker is the older twin brother of Neah Walker, the previous 14th Noah. If you two just listened and stayed away, the Noah within your sister would have had less of a chance in waking up. He was only nice to you two so that he could watch for when the next 14th would awaken and take over your sister's body. Though the Earl appears to have found a way to stop the takeover." Cross said. This caused me to fall on my knees and started crying. Yuu came over and hugged me in an attempt to comfort me.

"NO?! YOU - YOU'RE LYING?! MANA LOVED ELLEN AND I?!" I hiccupped, denying everything that the general said about Mana.

'Mana isn't like that. General Cross has to be lying. Mana wouldn't do that to Ellen and I. He's too kind to do that. There is no way that what the General is saying is true.'

"Did he ever teach your sister a song that is made out of strange symbols that forms into a circle that looks like that?" General Cross asked, pointing to Timcanpy, who was projecting a picture that looked familiar.

I thought for a moment as to where I had seen it before. I gasped as I remembered where I saw it from. Mana was drawing the same thing on the snow and teaching it to Ellen. Even more, tears started falling from my eyes.

'Does this mean I am the reason why Ellen became a Noah? That I am the reason we have to fight on separate sides? After all, I was the one who insisted that we went with Mana.'

During the trip back to HQ, I couldn't help but feel that everything that happened to my sister and I was my fault. When we arrived, we told everyone what had happened. To say that they were all shocked is probably the understatement of the year. Because Noahs and Innocence are not supposed to coexist. They are meant to destroy one another. But how come Ellen synchronization rate with her Innocence is so high.
