I looked over at Betty as we were standing in the boys bathroom. Her face had tears approaching her eyes. I hugged her tight and held her hand.

"So how did you know who we were?"

"J.B. never shut up about you. She said she had the best brother. Guess that's gone now."

He shook his head with anger in his face.

"I should've been there to protect her. I should've took the deal not her."

"No. She never would've wanted to stick something like that on you."

"What else am I supposed to do?!"

"Grieve Chev, grieve."

That's when it hit me. What my mother had done. I ran out the bathroom door still holding Betty's hand and ran towards the exit. Chev tried to follow us but lost us in the crowd of cops we barely made it through, but he was pulled aside for questioning. I climbed on my bike and Betty followed. I handed Betty a helmet and sped off.

Arriving at Pops to find Archie standing there outside watching the cops surround someone, that's when I saw her eyes. They were the eyes that I thought always spoke the truth, but they had cold dead lies hidden behind them. Anger started to fill my face as I started to walk towards her, but Archie walked out in front of me stopping in his tracks pushing me back.

"No Archie let me go!"

"No! I know why you're angry I heard everything. It's not worth it Jug. It's not."

"Archie she made the deal! She did it."

I saw my mom look up at me.

"She hurt her Archie."

"What do you mean she hurt her?"

"She was an abusive alcoholic Archie. That's what I mean."

He took his hand off me and backed away. I walked over to her.

"How could you do that to her?! How?"

I said pushing my way through the cops.

"Jug please, not now."

"Not now? When?"

"Jughead please!"

She said with her eyes shining at me, having tears in them.

"No! Tell the cops mom! Say it!"

"All right I did hit her but that gives you no right to get in my face like that!"

She pushed me, making me fall to the ground. My eyes went huge as I stared up at her.

"Juggy I- I'm"

"Mrs. Jones you're under the rest for child abuse. Your questioning will continue in jail."

I looked down at my hand that was scraped up and bleeding in some spots because of the way I hit the cement. Archie quickly picked me up; he glared at my mom with his mouth slightly open from disgust as she was shoved in the cop car.

"You okay man?"

"Yeah. I just always thought she was sweet and kind, now she's the woman that stabbed me in the back."

I walked past Archie and headed into Pops ordering a burger. Then taking a seat at my normal table. Everyone joined me even though they were exhausted and torn apart from her death and being up all night.

"I'm so sorry guys, I wish I would've went with her to get her bag. If I did that she would be okay and you guys wouldn't be so exhausted."

Betty interrupted me.

"Jug you didn't know. Besides you're probably more tired then all of us. You have a lot on your mind and that where's you out. If anything you should be the one to head home take a nice shower and a nap."

I kissed her cheek and smiled at her.

"I'm just gonna hit the shower after that I'll be back."

Pops placed my food on the table and my burger was packed. I looked at him confused.

"I over heard."

I grabbed it with a smile.

"Thanks Pop."

He nodded, I handed him the money; I kissed Betty good bye and I headed outside. I got on my bike and drove off. Leaving the Neon lights behind and driving up  the dirt road. Passing Riverdale High I saw bright red. I looked over at it for a split second; pulling over as I saw tons of people staring at it as well. Reading what it had said "She deserves it."

I got off my bike propping it up and I ran to the crowd where there was a big circle around someone. Pushing my way through I found Sweet Pea with a can of Spray paint. I raised my fist up to him and caught him off guard, hitting him right in the nose. He fell the ground with blood dripping from it. I looked him dead in the eyes.

"Screw you."

I walked away towards my bike looking back up at the words. Driving away with anger.
