Part 13: Shits and giggles

Laina POV:

Sister?! "You have a sister?! And you didn't tell me?!" I yell. "Laina calm down! Just breathe okay?" Blake says calmly. *knock knock knock* I look at Blake as he picks Alex up. I put my finger up as I walk towards the door and say "this discussion is not over." I open the door and a guard standing there holds up a sheet of paper and says "we have direct orders from Alaina Reddings to arrest a Mr. Blake Michael Reddings."

Blake POV:

Laina began to say "what? Wh--" then they pushed her against the wall and she fell to the ground. "Mommy!!!" Shrieked Alexander as he ran towards her. Three guards ran over and held me back. Laina wrapped her arms around Alex as they began to pull me out of our house. I turned and hit the guards. I ran over to Laina and asked "are you okay?! Did they hurt yo--" I'm cut off by a cloth going over my mouth. I fall to my knees and Laina is picked up by a guard. "Let's take her too. Just for shits and giggles." Says the guard who has me.

Laina POV:

As Blake falls to his knees, a guard picks me up. I look over at Blake and see that he's struggling to remain conscious. The guard that's holding the cloth over his mouth says "Let's take her too. Just for shits and giggles." "NO! You can't do that! I need to stay with my son!!" He ignores me and carries me to their truck. On the way to their truck, I see Corinne walking towards our house. I scream "Corinne! Please take care of Alex and don't let the guards take him!"

Corinne POV:

I run into my sister's house and am horrified at what I see. A guard holding crying Alex in the air, and Blake on the ground, weakly saying "l-let h-h-him go-o... p-please..." the guard kicks Blake and Blake gasps in pain. I run over, grab Alex and run out of the house. I put him in my car and run back into the house. I scream "enough!! There's no need to hurt him further!!" With that, the guards pick Blake up and carry him out the door an throw him into the van. "Blake!" Screams Laina frantically as she shakes him.

Laina POV:

As they basically throw Blake at me, I sit up and prepare to try to break his fall. He lands on his side which hurts his most likely broken ribs even more. He winces and looks at me. He hastily says, "Alex. w-where is he? I-is he o-okay?" I nod and say " Yes He's fine. He's with Corinne. She'll protect him." He smiles and closes his eyes. His breathing becomes short and shallow but doesn't completely stop, meaning that he's still alive. For now.
