Laina POV:

I try to cushion Blake's head as the guard who was in the back with us, tells the person driving to take the bumpiest road possible just to put Blake in more pain. Every single time we hit a bump, a small grunt comes out of blakes mouth, and a wince makes its way across his face. About 10 minutes go by and we hit a really big bump "AGHH" Blake pants. I run my hands through his hair as the truck comes to such an abrupt stop that we're slammed into the door.

Before I know it, we're pulled out of the truck and separated. I stiffen up so that I make if harder for the guards to pull me, but what I see next breaks my heart. Blake, weakly hanging from the guards arms, barely able to stay awake, get thrown to the ground. "BLAKE!" I scream unable to keep my tears in anymore.

Blake POV:

As Laina begins to cry, I try to say "It's oka---" but am cut off by blood filling my mouth and lungs, making it impossible to breathe. I cough twice and then lose consciousness completely.

Laina POV:

"Let me go. If you were actually supposed to arrest him then you need him alive. That man on the ground right now is dying. I can stop that. Let me." I say shakily. They throw me to the ground but, honestly, I don't care because my priority is Blake right now. I put my ear up to his face and silently listen for breath sounds. Once I hear one laboured inhale, I know that I need to help him. I try to fix his most likely broken ribs and pop his arm back into place. After about 8 hours, Blake wakes up, gasps and groans. He looks at me and say "Hey... Are you okay? What happened?"

Blake POV:

I try to sit up but feel a really sharp pain in my ribs. "ARGH" I grunt. "Stay down. At least for 10 to 20 minutes. Your ribs need time to fix themselves." I kiss Laina and ask "is Alex okay? Did Corrine end up taking him?" She nods as a guard walks in. He grabs her by this and the arm and stands her up. I get up and push him but he let's go of Laina, slams me against the wall, and then grabs Laina and leaves.

Laina POV:

Blake tries to help me but the guard rams him into the wall and then smiles as Blake slides down the wall with his hand on his side. He comes over to me, grabs me by the hair and roughly drags me out. As I'm being dragged away I hear Blake groan and say "leave her alone. It's me you want." Then I hear a woman chuckle and say "now, I can't let that happen. You see, I want her to watch you suffer and die and painful death. Then maybe I can let her go... if i feel like it. "
