Part 3: The last test

1 year later...

Blake POV:

As I take my shirt off, I look at my phone and see the date. It's been a year since I lost Ellie. I remember almost every day the very last time i saw ellie... i was getting pulled back by the guards and I looked up and saw her screaming and trying to fight the guards... *sigh* I finished changing and picked up my bookbag. I walked downstairs, looked at my dad and said "I love you dad" My dad pulled me into a hug and said "I love you too bud, good luck" I smiled and walked to school.

As I walked to school, I began to think about Laina. We had gotten so close during this past year. As I was grieving Ellie, she was grieving her mother. Not to mention how she's the only thing that kept me from ending it all.

Laina POV:

As i dropped Corinne off at school she looked at me and said "whats wrong?" "Nothing!" I quickly respond. I hug my little sister good luck and tell her that I'll see her tonight. I practically ran to school because i was late, when i got to the school kellen was waiting for me outside of the school. "You ready?" He asked. I looked at him and said "ready as I'll ever be", and with that we walked into the school and into our classroom.

Ms. Birch POV:

"You will have two hours to complete the test, look at your tablet only, all grades are final. Your test starts now."

Laina POV:

Nearly an hour has passed and I'm nearly done, i look over to Blake who's sitting next to me and he is struggling, so i subtly scooched my hand over and typed in the answer for him. He looked over to me and smiled. About 50 minutes have passed and I'm already done, i look over at Blake as he turns his tablet off, looks over at me and gives me a little smirk.

Kellen POV:

I finish my test with not a moment to spare, I hear Ms. Birch say "Time's up tablets down. If i call your name do not resist" as always her voice cracks as she calls the first name "Clarrissa Jones, Mark Twain, elana chang, Marion Marcus, Lloyd Wright, and finally... ( sobs ) laina Micheals. " as soon as she calls Laina I lock my arms onto Blake's arms so that he won't be able to get up and get hurt.

Laina POV:

"What?" I look at Blake and he's just as confused as i am. I feel the guard come up behind me and grab me by the hair and the arm and pull me out of my chair. I look at Blake and he's trying to help me but kellen is holding him back. The guard pulls me out of the room and right before the door closes i hear Blake scream "LAINA!!!!! NO!!!! NOT LAINA!!!!"
