The Dining Reception....

KongPob POV

The room was full and everyone who needed to be here was here except for the royal couple. At this moment, I quietly whisper to P'Arthit who's sitting next to me. "P', I am sorry but something happened this morning and as you can guess, I couldn't tell my parents about us".

Nodding, P' Arthit quietly answers " I guessed as much....but Kong, what's going on? And don't tell me nothing. Something big that I can't put my fingers on is obviously happening right now. And HOW do you actually know my uncle and why haven't you told me you met him?"

Sighing, I only shake my head. P'Arthit may have let things slide earlier with me, but obviously, the time for evasion with him is over.

"I met him such a long time ago that I almost forgot about it, P'. I didn't think it mattered" the lie so effortlessly coming out of my mouth that I even almost believed myself. Bile rose in my mouth.

Looking at me blankly, P'Arthit eyes suddenly harden as he firmly warns "Kong, you and I currently have something amazing going on between us because we promised that we won't lie to each other or keep things from each other. When we got back together, we both agreed that crossing this principle would be the deal breaker. In our current situation right now and in the future, if we can't trust each other, I don't know if and how we'll make it. So, right now, in this fucking moment, I am not hiding anything...I mean ANYTHING from you. Now, Are You Going To TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON?" his voice rising steadily as he finishes his sentence, and with everyone's eyes, including my parents' piercing gazes, slightly shifting onto us.

Knowing I cannot say anything to him right now, and maybe for a long time, I simply and painfully keep my mouth shut while holding his gaze, but at the very least, I pour every loving sensation that I can muster, every longing into my gaze, willing him to just trust me, to just believe in me, breaking the very promise we made not even two weeks ago. There's never been a bigger hypocrite than me right now. If I was in his place, I wouldn't trust/believe me either.

My silence ends up being deafening between us as he painfully inhales and looks away, blinking too quickly.

"I see" he simply says before righting his body that was slighting leaning towards me and looking straight ahead, completely ignoring me.

"P-" just as I was about to say something, the royal highnesses enter the dining room and we all stand in respect. Each one heads towards one end of the dining table.

"Friends, thank you for coming. Please take a seat" the King says before he seats himself, at the head of the table, next to P'Arthit, next to me. My skin slightly crawls.

As soon as he seats down, dozens of servants enter the room, each holding and depositing a plate of luxury food on the table, bowing to the king and walking out.
