KongPob POV
It took me roughly four hours but I finally finished unpacking my luggage and cleaning up my new dorm room. Stretching up, I decide to get something to eat. Just as I am about to hit the kitchen, my phone starts ringing from the sofa.
"Hey Aim" I greet my best friend jumping onto the seat. "Is everything okay? Why are you awake at this hour?" knowing that Aim and early mornings are not two things that make sense together.
"May, Wad, and Oak came over late yesterday to help me unpack and crashed here because we finished around midnight. I know you had research stuff since we arrived and until 3AM, so we were wondering if you needed us to come over and help you out. We should be able to finish it in two hours if we work quickly" he says.
"Thanks, but I started unpacking right when I came back from lab and just finished. You guys can just rest for now, and we'll meet up at ten-thirty like we talked about on the plane"
"OCD!" he mock-yells referring to my preference of doing all things in an orderly fashion or in my own, and hating it when others touch my things. "I knew you would do something like that or try to get out of it somehow. Anyways, less work for us. See you later"
Hanging up. I enter the kitchen to get something to eat. Just as I am about to heat up my morning coffee, someone bangs loudly on my door yelling "Advising!".
Opening the door after remembering that I signed up for my advising check-in to be at seven thirty, I come to face a student wearing his maroon/third year mentor blazer holding onto a clipboard.
"Sawatdee-krap P" I say with a wai.
"Sawatdee-krap" he responds back with a wai. "My name is Bright" he continues in English giving me a smile worth his name "and I am one of the sub-mentors this year. You should know the drill by now, so I won't take much of your time; we're simply verifying that all of the students are here and in their correct rooms".
After my nod, he asks "Room 225, what's the last four digits your student ID?"
"0062" I answer.
After finding the student ID that corresponds to room 225, he gives the column next to my number a check mark, gives me the clipboard and asks me to sign it.
After I return it to him, he reverifies everything and says "Thank you..." looking at my name he adds "Thank you...KongPob..Su..Su"
"KongPob Suthiluck, P" I say after realizing that he couldn't really read my handwriting that well.
His eyes bulge out.
"You're KongPob Suthiluck?" he asks incredulously.
"Yes..." I answer, resigned.
"Aat Suthiluck's son?" he continues, mouth wide open.
Seeing no harm in confirming something my parents already approved of,
I nod hesitantly "Krab, P".
"KongPob, the child genius?" he double checks.
"People are still calling me that?" I ask, now incredulous.
But he ignores my question and simply says "Wow" turning on his heels to leave, still appearing shocked.
I watch him leave in amusement for a few seconds, and just as I'm about to close my dorm's door
"KongPob, wait!" he yells."What is it P?"
"Actually, since I'm already here, I'll just pass on the message. This floor, actually, only houses the valedictorians and salutatorians of each school year, so there's twelve of us in total. And Ai'Arthit, the head mentor this year and who also lives across from you" he says nodding at Room 231 across from me "was supposed to come over and tell you all of this, but he just told me that he has to go over the autistic center" he says shaking his phone at me. "So, we're meeting at 2pm in my room today before your orientation" he says pointing at a room further down the hall "just to introduce you to everyone except Ai'Arthit whom you'll probably just have to meet during the advising later on tonight"
