[CHAPTER 3]

* : ・゚*✧ * ・゚: *"Okay, okay, Chelsea that's enough" I squealed while Chelsea literally tried to attack me with lipstick.
"No, sit still, just a little more" Chelsea applied another coat of the red lipstick.
"Chels, you're not my mom and it's not prom night. I don't think anyone will care if I have bright red or not so bright red lipstick on" I laughed.
"Gosh Ani, this is important it's your first party and you need to be believable for the experiment" Chelsea sighed.
After another fifteen minutes of bickering with Chelsea about my outfit, we finally got in her Mini Cooper. I had on a black open back cocktail dress, black pumps and my long dark waves cascading down my back. Chelsea had on a bright pink strapless body-con dress with black pumps and her blonde locks straightened and styled into a high ponytail.
The drive to Shawn's house was relatively short and James was right, this kid is loaded! When we pulled up in the driveway, the party was already in full swing because apparently being fashionably late was Chelsea's thing.
"Keep your phone with you at all times, live a little and remember the experiment." Chelsea whispered to me as we made our way into the house.
"Okay" I barely finished when I noticed Chelsea was no longer beside me but was swallowed by the crowd of rowdy teens. Deep breaths, Janine, deep breaths.
"Hey you made it" James slurred as he engulfed me in his arms.
"You reek of baby prostitute" I noticed his repugnant odor and scrunched my nose.
"What can I say the ladies love me" he shot me a lopsided smile.
"Don't you dare throw up on me, this dress is new and white" I tried to keep a straight face but broke into fits of laughter.
I motioned for him to pass me a drink and he gladly passed me a red solo cup, how cliché. At first, I took a sip but it was sweet so I didn't hesitate to down the rest of it.
"Pass me another" I was getting tipsy but I didn't care, a little party never killed anybody. Okay maybe it did, but I'm going to pretend it didn't.
"Dance with me" James asked after he refilled my cup.
"I don- I mean I'd love to" I have no idea how to dance, I'll just go with the flow and blame it on the alcohol. Yeah.
James led me to the middle of the crowded 'dance floor' while some song I didn't recognize blasted through the many speakers around the room. I let my body move to the music and tried my best to let go.
When the song ended someone tapped James on the shoulder and whispered something to him. I didn't get a good look at who it was but moments later I was face to face with Colby White.
"Dance with me" he rasped.
Breathe, I had to breathe. I couldn't get my voice to work to I just nodded my head. I noticed the song playing was Drunk in Love by Beyoncé.
I swayed my hips to the music and let my hair fall over my face so I wouldn't have to look at him. But he caught on and the tips of his fingers brushed a few strands of my hair out of my face.
"Look at me" he was waiting for a reaction. I figured him out, or so I thought, he feeds on reactions. He must mistake me for a meek girl, which I was. Notice the emphasis on the past tense. I was going to give him a run for his money.
I turned my back to him but tilted my head so I could see him out of the corner of my eye. I began to grind on him slowly, or tried to. His breath hitched and his eyes widened and were now clouded with lust and desire.
His hands found their way to my waist and I knew he was encouraging me to continue, so I rocked my hips harder on him and let my head rest on his shoulder. It was a strange feeling but I could feel him hardening on me. And so the tables have turned.
"I love the way you react to me" I whispered breathlessly as the song ended. I left a chaste kiss on his cheek and when I pulled away I said "You have a little something"
He collected himself and wiped the stain off his cheek and opened his mouth to say something but I walked away and didn't bother to look back.
I walked around aimlessly for the longest time trying to find the many, many people I knew at this party when I found Chelsea fixing her dress as she stumbled out of a room, her hair disheveled.
She finally locked eyes with me and shot me a sheepish grin and motioned for me to follow her. And I did, after seeing Colby White stumble out of the room Chelsea had just walked out of.
He blew a kiss in my direction which I caught and pretended to smash in the palm of my hand. He feigned being shocked and I shot him a devilish smirk. It takes two to tango.
"Friends with benefits" Chelsea said once I walked into the bathroom where I found her washing her face.
"Hey are you trying to upstage me" I mocked her while laughing.
"Very funny but a girls got needs" she wiggled her eyebrows and fixed her hair. When she finished her eyes widened as if she just realized something.
"My clutch is in the room. I need my makeup, be doll and get it for me?" She had the nerve to bat her lashes at me.
"You owe me" I don't know what made me go but I found myself knocking on the door and slipping inside when nobody answered.
The devil himself was sprawled out on the bed with his hands behind his head, he actually looked angelic when he was sleeping. I spotted Chelsea's clutch on the bedside table. I tried my best to be quiet but in situations like this the actual loudness of something magnified and I felt like an elephant.
"Please don't wake up" I chanted in my head. But of course once I had Chelsea's clutch and was literally three steps from the door, I felt Colby snake his arm around my waist and yank me backwards.
"Payback time" he whispered into the crook of my neck where he planted kisses in trail to my chin.
I felt my knees go weak and involuntarily crumbled to his touch.
This is not part of my plan.
