"So, tell me about yourself" I said slowly. I don't mind all the dates unless the guy is too busy fantasizing about me to even talk.

"I'm Sean" he stuttered.

"I'm Janine" why am I even on a date with this guy, why is he even on the list?

"Let's take a picture" I pulled out my phone from my school bag and posed next to him. "I'm sorry but I have to go finish all this homework"

"I'm in all your classes, we don't have homework today" he pulls out my chair for me again.

"Oh that's right" I slouched in my chair and glanced at the menu again.

"She will have the salmon combo" Sean said confidently.

"I'm allergic to seafood" I burst his bubble "nice try though, I'll have the chicken tenders. To go please"

I packed my stuff while Sean kept begging me to stay. Once my food arrived I high tailed out of there and drove out of the parking lot before Sean could say wait.

I drove and drove until everything became unfamiliar to me. I rummaged through the car in a desperate search for a GPS. I plugged my phone into the charger and turned the navigation system on. Even though I could get home now that I know where I am, I still decided to call someone.

"Hello" Colby picked up on the second ring.

"Hey it's Janine and nobody else is picking up the phone so if they ask can you tell them I'm on my way home" that was a huge lie, he's the first person I called.

"Where are you?" I heard shuffling in the background.

"I am" I drove closer to a street sign when my car jerked off "oh shit, Colby I think my car died, Colby I'm scared and it's dark and I shouldn't have went out for dinner."

"Calm down" he soothed me "I'll come get you just call a car company and tell me where you are"

I gave him my location and called a car company who said they would be here as soon as possible to take my car to the repair shop.

I opened the restaurant doggy bag and nibbled on my chicken until I finished it all. I took the blanket out if my trunk and curled up in the drivers seat. I longed for my car heater in the cold. After dozing off a bit, the car company people finally came. I took my school bag and valuables out the car and watches as they hooked my up on a tow truck.

"Señorita" a guy whistled at me while they finished hooking up the car "your boyfriend is here"

"Thanks" I looked around frantically until I saw Colby jogging to me from his car.

"You came" I hugged him

"Yeah let's go" he pulled away and ruffled my hair.

I watched as they drove away with my car then finally buckled myself in the front seat of Colby's CRV.

"You owe me" I turned the radio down so that he could hear me better.

"Owe you for what?" he kept his eyes on the road.

"For what we did at the party, duh" I remember vividly Colby's name being on the list "I think you should take me on a date"

"Do you now?" he turned to look at me this time.

"I do" I nodded my head and turned the music up again.

I took my phone out of my purse and opened up my latest app addiction. Kim Kardashian Hollywood. I played for a little bit when I noticed Colby's eyes were fixed on me.

"Don't tell me you play that crap too"

I chose to mimic him which resulted in him ignoring me. It's not like I'm butt hurt or anything, though. After a little more of the unbearable silence, I finally snapped.

"Talk to me" I pleaded "How long until we get home?"

"About 20 minutes but it might be longer since you're meeting me in the back seat" he chimed.

"Who said that?"

"Me, so let's go" he pulled over safely and hopped out of the drivers seat and into the back.

"No" I purposely pulled the blanket and my winter coat off.

"Come on" he tugged my hand from the back seat "Just one kiss"

"Just one" I turned in my seat and leaned in to kiss him, when he was close enough, I took his bottom lip between my teeth and bit and hard as I could.

"What the hell, Janine" he muttered a few more colorful words before joining me in the front of the car.

At this point, I was full on laughing.

"You think that's funny?" he soothed his aching lip and started driving again.

"It is funny"

"Well I've decided to take you back to my place instead" instead of continuing down the highway he got off at the next exit and drove a little more until we were parked in the driveway of this house.

I hesitantly got out of the car and collected my things from the trunk. I silently trailed behind him into the house.

"Here" he tossed me a t-shirt and sweatpants that I could already tell were much too long.

I changed out of my designer jeans, and ruffled shirt into Colby's cozy tee shirt and sweats. I neatly folded my clothes and put them next to my bag.

"Want to watch a movie?" Colby started walking down to the living room "it's only 9pm"

"Okay" I sat on the couch and pulled a pillow into my lap. "Nothing too scary please"

He opened Netflix on his TV and scrolled until he decided on the movie Ride Along.

"C'mere" he motion for my to sit on his lap and I did.

He let me sit cross legged between his legs and wrapped his arms around my waist while resting his chin on my shoulder. We watched the movie wordlessly until the final credits appeared on the screen.

Colby turned us over so I was lying on my side with my back on the couch and my front facing him. He once again pulled me to his chest and closed his eyes.

"Goodnight" he kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight asshole"

I must've fallen asleep because I woke up to inaudible whispering.

"Another girl" a male voice whispered.

"When will this boy settle down" a feminine voice whispered back.

"At least this one is pretty" a child like voice whispered.

"Colby wake up" I decided to sit up and I was met by the concerning looks of Colby's parents and little sister. "Your parents are here.

"Janine go back to sleep" he pulled me back down to him by my waist.

"Colby seriously your parents are here"

It's like the information finally clicked because he jolted off the couch.

"Mom, Dad, Gracie, welcome home" he awkwardly shifted the weight between his feed and trembled under his father's disapproving glare.

Oh boy, we aren't even dating and I have to meet the parents.

IM SO SO SO SORRY THIS TOOK LIKE 193829 YEARS BUT I HOPE YOU LIKE IT. I took long because I rewrote this chapter twice in two different ways but with the same-ish outcome where Janine meets his family.
