"It's an amazing opportunity, you have to say yes" I head the faint arguing as I tip toed down the stairs.
"Alright Lillian, I suppose you're right" My father sighed.
I walked into the kitchen to see my dad reading the paper and my mom mixing something over the stove.
"I'm heading off to school now" I stepped into their conversation, awkwardly scratching the back of my neck.
"Have a wonderful day sweetheart" I pulled my dad into an embrace.
"Janine how many times do I have to tell you to put more effort into your appearance" My mother scolded me, she tried her best to keep a straight face.
"It's just school" I shrugged and hoisted my bookbag on my shoulder.
"Do you need a ride to school?" My mom looked up from the stove.
"No Dean's picking me up" I said.
"You know I don't like that boy" My dad's eyebrows furrowed as he set his newspaper down on the kitchen table.
"Leave her alone Chris" My mom shook her head disapprovingly at him "It's her first boyfriend"
"I'm only kidding!" I chuckled at their outbursts "Mara and Kelly are picking me up, Dean has early football conditioning"
"Sure he does" My dad grunts and I can't help the smile that tugs on my lips.
"That should be them right now" A honk outside grabbed my attention. "Have a good day at work"
I raced out of the house and down gre porch steps to where Kelly was waiting in the driver's seat and Mara was playing with the radio in the passenger's seat. I reluctantly hopped into the backseat and buckled my seat belt.
"Are you going to Dean's party?" Mara asks tentatively.
"I guess so, I mean he didn't officially invite me?" I shrugged.

In the middle of my lunch period, I got called to the principal's office. I walked briskly until I was in front of a wooden door decorated with a golden plaque. Before I could even knock the door was opened, revealing my chubby principal.
He ushered me in and I plopped down on the seat the was right in front of his desk. He wasted no time to start running his mouth.
"Miss Taylor, you're the brightest young scientist in your graduating class and have been selected to take part in a once in a lifetime expirience, bullying and stereotyping has become a serious issue with todays teens. WSA, World Science Allegiance, has conatcted the school and want you to move to New York and transfer to a school there where the experiment will take place, all expenses paid. You will have to, uh" Principal Wakings adjusted his bolo tie nervously "Throw yourself out there and journalsits will record the data on how the students take you arrival, So what do you say? We contatced your parents, Mr and Mrs Taylor and they are willing to let you go." He finished with a smile on his wrikled face.
So that's the big "opportunity" my parents were arguing about. I thought about it for a while and I wasn't so sure. Did I really want to do this?
"Can I think about it?"
"You have until the end of the school day" He waved me off and I packed my bag and headed to back to lunch.

I wiped the tears off my face and quickly grabbed my bag off the bathroom floor. I tried to push the events out of my head as I impatiently knocked on the principal's office door."You've made your decision?"
"I'll do it. I'll go to New York" I said.
*1 week later*
"Flight 201 to New York City is now boarding passengers, please make your way to Gate 7. Have a safe flight" The same message blared over and over through the airport speakers.
"I love you guys" I pulled my parents into another hug before slinging my carry-on bag in my shoulder and walking to the gate.
After getting comfortable in my seat, a flight attendant brought me a letter from WSA that described the experiment in greater detail. My eyes popped out of their sockets as I read the letter over and over, I had to become Remington High's slut?
