The night before replayed in Oliver's head over and over. He was frightened to see Len again; knowing how pathetic he seemed. What made matters worse was that he could barely keep his eyes open now - there was no way that he could go into the kitchen.

Sighing, he slipped back into his warm bed. Now that the others had returned, he could sleep. The only problem was that it was nine in the morning. Soon, Miku would knock on his door for him to wake up and come to breakfast. If he acted like he wasn't there, would she go away? Could he say that he wasn't hungry? No, she wouldn't listen to that. He was suicidal after all; and as far as she knew, he hadn't had dinner the night before.

He was stuck there. "Ollie?" A sing-song voiced called out in the hallway. He sighed, closing his eyes. "Yeah, Rin?"  Maybe - if he's tired enough it won't be as embarrassing. Unless he falls face first into his breakfast... Yeah, that would be horrible. "Come on! Everyone's waiting on you!" Everything that she said sounded so happy - he just couldn't understand how she stayed so cheerful. "I'm tired, why don't you all just eat without me?" Oliver bit his bottom lip nervously, grateful that he couldn't be seen.

"You know Miku won't have that," Rin giggled. "Come on!"

Oliver wondered if Len had told his sister of the night before as he reluctantly slid from his bed. He had gotten dressed earlier in case of this happening; it seemed now that he was smart to do so. As soon as he opened the door, Rin's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"You look so...so... Sick!" She then put the back of her hand to Oliver's forehead, feeling for a fever. To Oliver's relief, there was none. He slumped against the wall and closed his eyes, sighing. "Rin? Oliver? What are you doing in the hallway? Come eat." Miku wiped her hands on her apron, watching the two. Rin tugged Oliver ahead by his wrist, eyes worried.

Now everyone would think Oliver was sick; he didn't want that. Then Len would see that he hadn't slept at all - then he would know how childish Oliver was. With flushed cheeks, Oliver followed slowly behind Rin - even with her tugging his wrist. To his relief, Len and Kaito were lost in conversation and didn't pay him any attention. "I think Ollie's sick," Rin says quietly,  pushing Oliver ahead not-so-gently onto Miku. He looks up at her with tired eyes that supported Rin's assumption; his face was warm with embarrassment and he could barely stand. He was utterly exhausted and it could very well be mistaken for sickness. Although he didn't want them to think he was sick, it was an excuse to stay in bed...

Miku flashes Rin a warning look before placing her palm flat on top of Oliver's forehead. She sighs. "Go back to bed, honey, I'll bring you some food in a little while. Is that okay?"

Just as Oliver's about to reply, there's a loud thump on the other side of the room. "James?" Len laughs, his attention now directed behind Oliver. "Okay," Oliver mutters. When he turns, his face burns more. Bad bird! He scolds silently. James, Oliver's bird, had somehow gotten trapped inside one of his owner's coats and flew into the wall.

Oliver quickly scoops up the coat and starts down the hall, James eventually perching atop his master's shoulder. It wasn't long after they got inside that Oliver fell into a deep sleep, weighed down with exhaustion.

>>Len <<

"It wouldn't surprise me if that bird was going through Oliver's clothes. That thing is so creepy..." Kaito smiles his wide smile that makes even his eyes light up, his shoulders back against his chair and his head ever-so-slightly tilted in Len's direction. He always seemed to get lost in Kaito's happiness that seemed to radiate off of him, he even loved the sparkle of his eyes.

Anyone and everyone knew Len wasn't the happiest soul but then again - he wasn't depressed either. Just sad, one could say.

It was the depressed people that he stayed clear of because they were unstable; a time bomb. Like Oliver for instance; he was only thirteen but had attempted suicide multiple times.

Everyone seemed to love Miku, too, but Len could never come close. Her vibe was just... off. No one had ever seen her seeming sad but yet she sang the most hauntingly beautiful melodies of heartache.

He didn't hate her or Oliver but just chose to steer clear. He didn't want to be close to something so broken.

"He's too loyal for a pet. Really creepy." Len smiles and looks away from his friend, watching his sister for a few silent seconds before down to his half-eaten golden pancakes with sliced banana on top.

"Are we really discussing James being creepy? I think it's adorable, the love he has for his master," Rin interrupts with the same laid-back tone as her brother. Kaito snorts, "That's such a Rin thing to say."

"Excuse me?" Her voice edges defensively, sitting up straighter in her chair. Her bright blue eyes were narrowed into slits and her blonde hair was framing her face. She sort of resembled an agitated kitten; adorable. Len's smile never left his face. "He means that it sounds like something you would say, Rin-"

"Well, duh! I did say it!" She turns her head from Len to Kaito, her hair making a soft swooshing noise. Kaito groans. "For the love of all that's holy, Rin! It was a joke, drop it!"

Rin gives a dramatic huff and looks at Luka expectantly. The girl's eyes widen and she leans in a bit closer, mouthing 'huh?'

"Wasn't that an insult, Luka?"

"Wasn't what an insult?"

Luka swallows what was left of her pancakes and shakes her head, scooting her chair back before getting up. "I've got to-" "It was an insult!" "Pee."

"Have fun with that. I'm going to the studio. Bye dumb, dumber, and dumbest." Kaito pats Len's head a little harder than necessary and stands as well, Luka and Kaito going opposite directions.

"You're dumbest!" Rin shrieks at Kaito viciously. In response, Miku drops the dishes she was carrying in surprise. Both food and dishes fall to the ground, the dishes breaking on impact. "I'm not cleaning that up," Miku says in a calm voice, her lips forced into a smile. "Rin, clean that up. Len, make Oliver a new breakfast."

"But it's everywhere!"

"But I didn't-"

"Now!" Miku exclaims, face void of all emotion. "No buts, you two."

"Butts," Rin sighs softly, kneeling before the mess.
