I woke up to a delicious scent. As I opened my eyes I saw a slice of pie on the nightstand next to me.

I smiled and sat up, grabbing the plated pie and the fork next to it. I didn't hesitate to dig in.

When I finished the pie, I patted my stomach in satisfaction.

That hit the spot. I thought to myself.

I then stood up and walked out the room,  empty plate in hand. I looked down both sides on the hallway to see where I can find Toriel and thank her-as well and putting my plate away.

As I looked to my left I saw a large doorway that seemed to lead to a room. Light was illuminating from there as well, and I can faintly hear fire crackling.

I began to make my way over there the fire sounding lounder as I got closer.

I entered to room and saw Toriel sitting in a large sofa-chair, reading a book.
She looked up at me and smiled.

"Oh hello Child, how did you sleep?" She asked, closing the book and standing up.

"I slept well, thank you. And um..thanks for the pie as well, it was delicious." I responded with a smile, "where should I put my plate?" I added.

Toriel chuckled and walked over to me.
"My you are quite polite, but you are a guest Child. You need not worry about that, I can take it from you." She said as she petted my head and gently took the plate from my hand.

She walked to through a doorway in the far corner of the room which I'm guessing is the kitchen.

I hear the running of water and assume she is washing the dish. I began to observe the room I was in.

It was a nice set up. There was a fireplace where the fire crackled, next to it was Toriels chair, a rug, and a couple bookshelves full of-well, books. There was also a dining table in the other corner of the room as well.
[I mean, I'm sure you already know what the living room looks like but eh.]

I walked towards the bookcase and scanned over the books that Toriel had.

As I did, I heard the water stop and footstep coming back to the living room.

When Toriel entered the room she looked where she last saw me then scanned the room till she saw me at the bookshelf.

I gave her a smile and she returns it. She walked over and sat in her chair, picking up the book from the spot.

She got comfortable and put on some reading glasses. I walked over to her.

"Toriel?" I asked. She looked to me.

"Yes Child?" She responded.

"What are you reading?" I asked her trying to see the cover of the book.

"Oh I'm not sure if it's something of your interest Child." She said but answered anyway,"It's a book i find very interesting, Its called 101 uses for snails!" She seemed to enjoy it a lot.

"Can you read me some?" I ask and sit on the floor.

She seemed taken aback but quickly lit up like a Christmas tree. She began to excitedly list the different uses for snails.

I sat and listened, most of them were actually interesting and I loved seeing Toriel looking so happy. She seemed to be alone here for a while. It was nice to sit and listen like a child and their mother spending quality time together.
