~CORA'S POV:~"W... can you go ahead and take Maia for a ride?" Demi spoke while looking at the man that was standing near me, "Pretty please?" She smiled.
Maia latched onto me as the man nodded his head and began to walk towards her, "I'm not going anywhere!"
I gripped onto Maia also but it didn't do much once the man grabbed onto her and began to pull her away from me, "Don't let him take me, Cora!" Maia screamed as we held onto each other. The man picked up Maia's lower half of her body then snatched her away with full force, "I'm sorry Maia! I'm really sorry!" I cried as I watched her getting dragged away.
"Kill her," Demi demanded, "Throw her body in a bush, toss her in a river, leave her behind Target - I don't care. Prove your loyalty to me by killing her."
The man nodded once again and continued to walk out of the room with Maia trying her best to punch and kick him."So much for changing?" I mumbled.
Demi placed her hand over her chest, "I'm not touching Maia, he is.""Please don't let him kill her, call him or something please. I swear I'll do anything you want." I begged, so many people have died within this past year I don't think I could handle another funeral at this point.
"You're just like your Mother I swear," Demi groaned, "Both of you talk so fucking much."
I shook my head, "Stop it! Don't talk about her!"Demi laughed as she picked up the gun that was sitting near me, "Then make me shut up, Cora." She provoked trying her best to hand me the gun, "Kill me."
I turned my head away from her without saying a word, "Just as I thought. You're weak." Demi confirmed as she set the gun back down by her side, "As much as you want to put a bullet through my head you just can't do it? Why?""I'm not a killer." I told her, "I have a heart."
"Yeah a heart with post traumatic stress wrapped around it."I glared at Demi, I could feel my frustrations and inner rage built up as the smile on her face grew wider. I grabbed onto the gun that was next to her then picked it up quickly, "I have that shit because of you!" I screamed, "All because of you!"
Demi continued to look at me looking highly amused as I pointed the gun towards her, my fingers shook as they hovered over the trigger, "I'm not the same anymore because you ruined me! I finally thought everything was over once again and you're back, why.. why can't you just stay gone?"
"Cora sweetheart... you really thought that I was actually going to go down with all of you?" She paused, "I honestly thought that you were smarter than this, but here let me lay it out for you. I had that escape plan set up for days and obviously it worked out just fine. The bridge had this part built underneath it where you can grip onto it a bit, it had an extra row of concrete hanging but only just a little bit. So, when I jumped over the rail I kept one hand on top of the bridge til I was able to grip underneath it. Once I had a solid grip I began to move forward almost as if I was playing on the monkey bars."
"Are you following what I'm saying, Cora?" Demi asked, "Just wanted to make sure since you seem a bit slow now. Anyways, after moving as close as I could to hang above the land before the bridge caved completely, I flung myself forward and let go. My body flipped just right before I hit the grass so I could fall into a forward roll, I jumped up right away and ran down the river. Yanked off my boot and tossed my sock into the water then I put my boot back on - God zipping up thigh high boots are annoying as fuck-"
"-Wait." I interrupted, "The police found your boot stuck underneath a boulder along with skeletons. That doesn't make any sense if you put your boot back on?"
"My boot was in the water for at least a good two days before the explosion, same with my so called skeletons." She smiled, "Money talks and medical examiners love that language."
