Chapter 13

Hey guys. So sorry for making you guys wait so long. Since April and I'm barely uploading. And I'm uploading from my phone. Over here where I live its summer, I just barely got out too. "That kid sure moves fast huh?" said Dad " Already asking you on a date."

"It's not a date." I said a little too loudly. Blushing I looked down and took a deep breath to calm down.

"Sure if you want to call it that." said Mom rolling her eyes at me.

"What ever," I said waving my hand dismissing the topic " so can I go or not?"

"No." said Dad automatically becoming over protective just like Max.

"Dad!" I whined " I thought you liked him?"

"When did I ever give that impression?" He asked, raising and eyebrow.

"During dinner. You weren't rude at all."

"I was just being polite, minding my manners." He said " something you and your brother should learn."

"Mom!" I said turning to her , not wanting to deal with my father "will you let me go?"

"Don't drag me in this," said Mom getting up and going to the kitchen.

"Well you have a say in this too or no?" I said following her "come on please?"

"Leave me alone Melanie." She said looking annoyed.

"Why won't you let me go ?" I said mad " its just me and a friend going to go get ice cream."

"You know what? Go! " yelled Mom getting fed up with me and my whining.

"Lauren!" exclaimed Dad "don't give her permission."

"Shush David," said Mom putting her hand on her hips " just let her go. She's always cooped up in here all day."

My dad crossed his arms, closed his eyes and pursed his lips tight together. He opened his dark blue eyes , the same color as mine.

"Fine -" he said finally.

"Yay!" I shrieked.

"Under one condition." He finished.

"Ugh." I groaned already knowing what he was going to say.

"Take Max with you." Said Dad.

"Can I ditch him ?" I asked thoughtfully.

"What? No. Honestly I don't care but both of you guys have to come home by 7 o'clock."

"Fine as long as I get to go." I grumbled.

Running up the stairs, I knocked on Max's door and went in.

"Ahhh !" I screamed covering my eyes.

"What the Hell Mel!" yelled Max securing the towel tightly around his bottom half.

"I'm sorry ! I didn't see anything I swear! " I said my hands were tightly gripping my face. "I just wanted to tell you that on Friday we're going to get ice cream at the Snack Shop. Bring a date if you want."

"Wait what?" asked Max looking so confused.

"Snack Shop. Friday. Bring date. Bye." I said quickly and sprinted out of his room and into mine.

Putting on play on Pandora, I quickly responded to Jace.

Mel Matthews: so the parents said yes !

Jace Rathburn: awsome! :D

Mel Matthews: one condition though...

Jace Rathburn: lemme guess.. brother is coming with us?

Mel Matthews: yeah. Sorry but we can ditch him!

Jace Rathburn: Lol. What ever you want as long as we see each other.

Aw. Isn't he the sweetest guy ever? Seriously. There's not much guys left like Jace, I'd there are they are probably taken or interested in some bi- girl.

Jace and I kept talking for hours, until I felt my eyes were starting to droop with sleep. Looking at the time, I noticed that it was almost one in the morning. Holy crap. Did we really spend that much time talking?

Mel Matthews: I'm so tired

Jace Rathburn: go to sleep, don't want you to lose your beauty sleep.

Mel Matthews: I think I will coz I really need it. Haha. Well good night Jace. Can't wait for Friday! Bye bye :)

Jace Rathburn: no you don't. I think your beautiful just the way you are. I can't wait either , sweet dreams :)

I smiled at his last message to me, giggling a little. I went to brush my teeth. Already in muy pjs, I turned off three light and snuggled into my covers.

I fell asleep with a smile on my face and thinking about Jace.
