I didn't know who it was since it was only signed with a “J”. But then I saw the nickname “Redhead” I instantly knew it was from Joe. Crumpling it up I threw it under my bed. I began to cry softly. I mean who wouldn't? Two freaking guys who were obviously involved with the Mafia had found me. It was only matter of time before they did something. But that something who knows what it will be. I pulled at my hair, frustrated. From now on I will have to be more careful in case they try anything. I managed to fall asleep, a restless one, but hey its better than being awake all night.
The next morning when I woke up I thought everything was a dream. But then everything came rushing back with a huge headache. I was nursing my head when I heard a knock on the door.
“Mel” I heard Max say.
“Yeah?”
“Open up.” he said.
“Um, okay.” I said and stood up to open the door. “What's up?” I asked and headed to my bed to sit down.
“Where were you exactly yesterday?” asked Max scratching his head. “With that guy?”
“If you mean Jace,” I said emphasizing on Jace's name. I began to “ Well when I threw up and when I was lost.”
“Are you sure you didn't see anyone else?” he asked looking at me straight in the eye.
“Um, no?” I said biting my lip nervously “why are you asking?”
