"Don't you think it's a little strange that she's the only girl in their group? Bless my innocence, how does she handle herself? How do they handle themselves? You know teens and their hormones." Manon glanced thoughtfully at Kemen.

"If I had to guess I'd say you were worried about her. Chill dude, she has, like, six brothers. Two older, four younger. She's more than capable of handling three her age!" He grunted.

"I'm gonna go over there and offer my services."

"Why?"

"Because I'm brave. Maybe you should do the same with your boyfriend Chris, hmm?" She growled, irritated by the mere mention of his name. It had been two weeks. Two. Her plan of avoiding him worked well, a little too well actually. When she decided to stop being childish and try to be friends, the avoidee became the avoider. He was so freaking stealthy! Not to mention, he barely a spoke a word in class unless he was called and basically lived in the shadows. He thwarted every attempt at socialization with her! Well, actually, he did it with practically everyone. She watched him hastily make an excuse when Kemen trotted over. He was - without a shadow of doubt - adorkably annoying. His stupid hoodie collection- did this guy have any other outwear? Maybe a nice jacket or something? Ugh! She scowled at his retreating back and stared at the football field.

All of a sudden, Ella and Etta ambushed him from behind. He staggered back as they held their hands in front of his face.

"Go talk to her."

"Who?"

"Who else?" He made a face.

"If you're talking about Miss Unicorn over there, I'm gonna have to give you a flat no." They had grown accustomed to his low voice so strained their ears to listen.

"But why hoodie guy?"

"Because I said so Minty. I refuse to speak to that weirdo. I don't even want to talk to either of you so... yeah. Maybe I should avoid you too." They rolled their eyes.

"Try it! We're strategists and we know all the hiding points. There's no point running." They smirked proudly.

"Good luck finding mine then. Really. You'll need it." They both groaned.

"This is not the time to talk about this! Come on, your friends are over there. Let's go." He winced slightly at the friend part and followed uneasily. Kemen let out an exasperated sigh. Tyler and Freddy made Meera sit behind them in the bleachers while she just sat there, laughing.

"Would you all leave me in peace? I'm over here trying to court this beautiful damsel and these two won't stop bugging me! Manon, tell them to leave!"

"Quit whining you baby. We're her bodygaurds. No suitors allowed until she is of age!"

"But her eighteenth birthday isn't until May! It's way too far guys."

"Not. Helping." Manon smiled sheepishly.

"I'm a shipper Ty. I ship people. Deal with it."

"Can't I at least catch a glimpse of my lady?" Meera spoke between laughs.

"I... am... not... your... lady..."

"Of course not. My quest is to obtain your hand!"

"In... marriage? What are... you nuts?"

"Don't over think our relationship so much my sweet." She giggled again.

"This... is really... stupid..." She tried to sober up but couldn't.

"Kemen, if you say another word I think she might die laughing. Please stop."

"Why, my heart couldn't bear such grief as my lady parting from-" they shot him a warning look. "Oops." He looked so serious as he fought to keep his tongue in check that she kept laughing.

"Kemen!"

"What?" Ella whispered something in her ear. Meera nodded and stood up. Well, boys, I guess it's time we go. Lunch'll end soon." She silently nodded her head at Chris and Manon. They scrambled up and followed her, waving. Ella and Etta stood up almost immediately after they left.

"True, it's kinda late. Come on Kemen. Let's go."

"Aww, my lady is leaving already? I wasn't done courting her!"

"You'll court her later dummy."

"But I want to talk to Manon-"

"Later." He caught the look and stood up immediately, glancing worriedly at the twins. He wondered what they were planning as he left. Chris made to leave. They shot him a dark look. He rolled his eyes.

"Well, you two can stay and chat a bit. Bye!" They ran off, fist bumping. Chris rolled his eyes once again, getting up to leave.

"Oh, you're still here Chris."

"Yep." Awkward. "Anyways... I'll just-" she tapped the seat next to her. He sat way at the back of the bleachers. She sat at the front row. "I'd rather not."

"I can't hear a word you're saying."

"I think it's better that way."

"Please Chris?" He hesitated before sighing. Obey before complain. He sat down next to her, trying to keep his distance at the same time. "I don't want to sit here." He squirmed a bit and sat down.

"I know." They sat there, her looking at the football field, him with his hands in his pockets, desperate to leave.

"Well, it's been fun and all. I'll just-"

"Why do you hate me?"
