So, I just found out this song is a lot dirtier than I thought it was after looking at the lyrics but ehn, just pretend he sings something really cute when those dirty parts come on, okay? Like when he says nothing can compare to when you're naked just think, never wanna see that smile go faded, please =)

In hindsight, I should probably chose a different song but I've decided to not do that, so yeah,

"Shit... Manon?" He sucked in a breath and stared at her, laying on her bed and unmoving. He moved closer and tapped her, desperate to see her jump and scold him for being in her room again, desperate to see her smile but all he got was silence. He took a step closer and shook her, muttering a few profanities under his breath and lifted her up, trembling slightly when he heard her faint breathing. Holding her bridal style, he leapt out of the window and headed to the hospital until he remembered he could teleport and appeared in the middle of a sea of doctors and patients.

"Shadow?" He heard a voice that sounded only vaguely familiar and spun around to realise it was the nurse that he had spoken to when he had brought in the man hit by a bus. She looked from his trembling lip, which was all she could see to Manon and called some doctors, hesitant for a moment before putting a hand on his shoulder to hold him back when they wheeled her to the ER on a gurney. "Manon will be okay, don't worry. I just hope they find out what exactly is wrong quick enough, but believe me, she'll be fi-"

He teleported to her room and began to rummage around her bed, finding a nearly empty bottle of pills under her bed. He grabbed it and teleported back to the hospital, appearing in her shadow to make sure it was her and making himself physical. She jumped and cleared her throat, taking the bottle from him and rushing to the ER without a word. He retreated into the shadows and stopped being physical for some time so that no one would see him cry, they simply heard disembodied sobs coming from the dark, empty janitor's closet.

"...Shadow Man was just here, actually. I don't know where he is now though-"

"Chris?!" He clamped a hand over his mouth and teleported into Nino's faint shadow, looking around to find his friends and the Agrestes. He clenched his fists when he saw that Nadia was nowhere in sight. "I've been looking for him, his phone is switched off and the air hostess realised he was gone when the plane was about to take off. Why does he have to do this shit to me...?!"

"Nino, we're here for Manon, okay? He's a big boy, he knows what he's doing, wherever he is."

"Big, Adrien? I can't look at that kid without seeing the little him, crying. I'll come back, okay? Manon isn't going anywhere and she will get better but he's my brother, my little brother, I have to look out for him." Chris materialised, making the others jump and folded his arms from underneath his cloak.

"Three things; first off, my phone was dead. Lady WiFi isn't the only internet obsessed human around here. Second, I'm right here-" the air was sucked out of Chris' lungs when Nino wrapped his arms around him. He swallowed and whispered, "third, you're not actually my... Brother, Nino. I've been meaning to tell you but-"

"Don't say that, bro. You are, you know that." He hung his head in shame, about to argue when Nino said, "I know you aren't biologically but still, you are my brother."

"How did you-"

"I was the one who took you to the hospital every time, remember? Every single time you got sick, it was me. The better question is how would I not have known because I was bound to find out. I've known for years, but I couldn't care less, little dude." He grinned, stopping when Nino got a message that made his eyes widen. "Sorry, if you'll excuse me I have to go ask my beautiful wifi why I have a text telling me a little bubble hippie is on the way."

"Wait, does that mean what I think it means?" Chris smiled when Nino's eyes lit up slightly as he mumbled a maybe and walked away to the doctor's office to meet Alya. Nino had been wondering why she threw up earlier but he didn't expect it to be a baby. Chris wanted to follow Nino but just then, the doctor walked out of the ER and he teleported in front of him, his eyes wide. "Is she okay? Can I see her?"

"She's stable, but she's in some sort of coma. You might not be able to get a response from her for a while," the doctor said slowly, jumping when the nurse appeared behind him with a grin.

"...but Doctor Forget-a-Lot didn't mention that talking to her could help her get out of this. It really does."

"Damn, and this had to happen so close to Christmas too. How did it happen?" The nurse asked curiously. The doctor sent her a warning glance but she ignored it.

"It's my fault," Chris mumbled. Before anyone could respond, he was in Manon's ward. He could see Manon, and Shadow Man could see the Puppeteer as clear as day. Walking towards her, he sat down and whispered a simple prayer to Allah before taking her hand. "I was terrified, Manon. I was terrified because of what I felt for you and the fact that you could return those feelings. Why would you choose a broken demon like me when you have only ever been an angel, Manon? A beautiful, broken angel that lost her wings..."

He parted his lips and began to sing Beautiful Angel by Bazzi softly, he didn't know most of the lyrics but he made them up along the way. At the end of it, he pressed his lips against her forehead and ran a hand through his hair, unable to stop himself from sobbing when he heard the sound of the heart monitor let out a long, drawn out beep.

What is that? What is that?! Chris, what's going on?!

She's... They're gone, Shadow Man... This is all my fault...

He rose when her heartbeat returned, frowning when the temperature dropped. The sound would go from beeping continuously to a long, drawn out beep intermittently and he hid in the shadows when he heard a thud. "Oh, shoot, my head. My beautiful, overly huge head!"

"I advised you not to teleport, Zee. I could have assisted you easily with-"

"What?! The icky butterfly things?! Eww, no, eww, no, Chris get out here." He rose, taking physical form and shook slightly when he saw that I was looking directly at Manon.

"Don't touch her, Papillon."

"What, why? Chris, move aside, this is totally my fault. Sorry, my phone's been glitching cause its just too damn cracked, I was gonna make it look like she was dead, you would confess how in love with her you were and propose, then I'd pick up the heart monitor and say it wasn't even plugged biatches and be on my way." He went slightly pink and rose a trembling hand to touch Manon, his gaze softening as his green orbs settled on her.

"So... Is she okay?" I chuckled and nodded.

"Of course, dude. How can I ship you if there is no one to ship you with? I mean, seriously?! For the love of Oreos, I'm The Shipper for crying out loud- whoopsie... I'm just gonna-" I began to tiptoe to the door, forgetting that I could teleport for a moment when he teleported in front of me. Muttering a profanity under my breath, I smiled and waited for him to speak, already knowing exactly what he would say.

"Wait... The Shipper?!"

Wow, it's 2 am and I should be asleep but fuck it, peoples, here's the second to the last crappie... I mean, chappie. The epilogue is next and I'm gonna try and finish this right now, let's just forget the fact that I'm going to church in some hours. Ciao till then, my beautiful peoples =)
