I turned around when the Doctor entered the room. I ran over, wrapping my arms around his neck and hugging him.

"Did you do it?" He asked in my ear.

"Yes. I remember everything. Even you, you big idiot!" I pulled away, keeping my hands on his shoulders. He didn't smile though, just looked up at Dalek Sec.

"THOSE PEOPLE WERE DEFENSELESS!" He shouted. "You only wanted me, but no that wasn't enough for you, you had to start killing!"  The angry Doctor was terrifying. " 'Cause that's the only thing a Dalek's good for!"

"The deaths were wrong." Dalek Sec replied. The Doctor raised his eyebrows, as did I.

"I'm sorry?" He asked.

"That man, their leader. Solomon. He showed courage."

"And that's good, is it?" I asked.

"That's excellent."

"Is it me, or are you becoming a bit more...human?"

"You two are the last of your kind." The Doctor looked at me, grabbing my hand and intertwining our fingers. We looked back at Dalek Sec. "And now I am the first of mine."

"But what do you want us for?" The Doctor questioned.

"We tried everything to survive." He walked past us, and we turned, looking at him. "But we found ourselves stranded in this ignorant age. "First, we tried growing new Dalek embryos.  But their flesh was too weak."

"Yeah, we found one of your experiments. Just Left out there to die in the dark."

"It forced us to conclude what is the greatest resource of this planet. It's people." He flipped a switch and the lights came on, revealing a space above us, full of suspended tables. On those tables were bodies, covered with sheets. He flicked another switch and one of the tables lowered down. The Doctor pulled me back out of the way. Once it stopped, we surrounded it, Dalek Sec on one side, and the Doctor and I on the other. "We stole them. We stole humans for our purpose. Look inside." The Doctor reached foreword, moving the sheet. It was a man, with a pale white face. "This is the true extent of the final experiment."

"Is he dead?" I asked.

"Near death. His mind wiped." Dalek Sec touched the human's head, running his hand over his hair. "Ready to be filled with new ideas."

"Dalek ideas?" The Doctor asked.

"The human Dalek race."

"How many are there?" I questioned.

"We have caverns beyond this storing more than a thousand."

"Is there any way to restore them? Make them human again?"

"Everything that they were has been lost."

"So they're like shells," The Doctor pointed out, " You've got empty human beings ready to be converted. That's a heck of a lot of power."

"This planet, at this point in time, hasn't even split the atom yet, so how do you propose to do that?" I threw in. "Ha. I know the future."

"Open the Conductor plan."

~~~
The screen had reappeared and a 3D hologram of the Empire State building popped up on the screen.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Empire State Building. We're right underneath that. I worked that out already, thanks." The Doctor stated, " But what, you've hijacked the whole building?"
"We needed an energy conductor."
"For what exactly?" I asked.
"I am the genetic template. My altered DNA was to be administered to each human body." A human and Dalek strand of DNA appeared on the screen." A strong enough blast of gamma radiation can splice the Dalek and human genetic codes, and waken each body from its sleep. " A yellow energy surrounded the hypothetical DNA, combining it to form one strand.
"Gamma radiation? What are you? Oh, the sun. You're using the sun. " The Doctor realized.
"Soon the greatest solar flare for a thousand years will hit the Earth. Gamma radiation will be drawn to the energy conductor and when it strikes "
"The army awakens." I stated dramatically. "But I still don't understand what that has to do with us. Why do you want us?"
"Your genius." He replied.
"Well, I wouldn't say that. Him, maybe but me...I'm just a child."
"How old are you?" The Doctor asked.
"Three-hundred and thirteen."
"Oh, you are rather young."
"Why how old are you?"
"Nine-hundred and three." I cringed.
"Ooh. Grandpa."
"Oi! That's quite rude-"
Consider a pure Dalek," Dalek Sec interjected, "intelligent but emotionless."
"Right, sorry. I'll deal with you later." I shrugged. "Removing the emotions makes you stronger. That's what your creator thought, all those years ago. "
"He was wrong." The Doctor and I raised our eyebrows, glancing at each other.
"He was what?" We asked together.
"It makes us lesser than our enemies. We must return to the flesh, and also the heart. "
"But you wouldn't be the supreme beings anymore. " The Doctor pointed out.
"And that is good."
"THAT IS INCORRECT." One of the Daleks disagreed.
"DALEKS ARE SUPREME!"
"No," Sec disagreed, "Not anymore! "
"BUT THAT IS OUR PURPOSE!"
"Then our purpose is wrong!" He shot back, "Where has our quest for supremacy led us? To this. Hiding in the sewers on a primitive world, just four of us left. If we do not change now then we deserve extinction. "
"So you want to change everything that makes a Dalek a Dalek?" The Doctor inquired, seemingly just as confused as I was.
"If  the two of you can help me. " He replied, "Just one of your knowledge of genetic engineering is even greater than ours. The new race must be ready by the time the solar flare erupts. "
"But you're the template. I thought they were getting a dose of you. "
"I want to change the gene sequence. "
"You want to make them more human?" I questioned.
"Humans are the great survivors. We need that ability. "
"Hold on a minute. There's no way this lot are going to let you do it. " The Doctor jammed his thumb at the other three Daleks.
"I am their leader. "
"Oh, and that's enough for you, is it?" He asked, turning towards the other three.
"DALEKS MUST FOLLOW ORDERS."
"DALEK SEC COMMANDS, WE OBEY."
"Just like that?" I asked.
"If both of you don't help me, nothing will change. "
"There's no room on Earth for another race of people. " The Doctor pointed out.
"You have your TARDIS. Take us across the stars. Find us a new home and allow the new Daleks to start again. "
"T-A-R- Oh, I see what you did there!" The Doctor nodded, smiling at me. "Good, Time and Relative Dimension in Space was a mouthful."
"When's that solar flare?" The Doctor asked.
"Eleven minutes. " I clapped, rubbing my hands together.
" Alrighty then. Better get to work, boys." I tied my hair up into a ponytail. The Doctor smiled at me.
"It's nice having another one." I smiled back.
