The next morning I woke up and my leg was worse.

Come on Finnick, don't I have enough sponsors?! I thought.

Monet read my mind.
"I'm really good at climbing trees. The only reason I made noise yesterday was because my foot slipped. Really, I'm honestly quiet. I could go try and find Ryder. You need to stay here and rest."

"Ok." I said, weakly.
"My mentor, Finnick, he taught Ryder and I about the mockingjays that live in the trees. They pick up music. Ryder and I made a whistle to make sure we're safe. I could teach you the whistle."

I taught her the whistle and she did pretty well.

"Good luck. Be careful. And thank you."
I said.

She smiled.
"You're welcome."

As she left, I fell into a deep sleep.

When I awoke, probably an hour later, Monet still wasn't back. I started to hear a noise. A buzzing. The sound of a Hunger Games parachute.

I grabbed it, opened it and read the slip of paper inside.

It said:
You can do this. Apply gently. -F

I smiled and applied it to my leg. It hurt at first but the pain soon went away.

"Thank you Finnick." I mouthed to a camera, knowing Finnick had to be watching.

I started to get worried when a cannon fired.

Not long after, maybe ten minutes, Monet came back.

"Hey, did you find Ryder?" I asked.

She nodded, out of breath.

Ryder walked into the cave and sat next to me.

I sat up and gave him a hug.

"You ok? You look terrible!"
He was burned. A fire, maybe?

"Thanks? That smarty, from District..."

"Three. District 3." Monet finished.

Ryder nodded. "Carlisle, I think. I allied with him. We were getting chased down by a forest fire and he tripped and..."

"Let's just say that was the end of the road for him." Said Monet.

I nodded in understanding.

Ryder looked at my leg.
"I thought you said it was horrible? Doesn't look that bad to me."
He told Monet.

I shook my head.
"Finnick sent me a parachute."

"Awwww," said Ryder.
"How sweet!"

Yep, Ryder was back.

"You and Finnick a thing or something?" Monet asked.

I shook my head.
"No. Just friends."

Ryder shrugged. "That's what they all say."

"Oh wait!" Monet said.
"Finnick's the one that one the Hunger Games three years ago at age fourteen, right. The one with the trident. Man, he is a doll!"

I didn't realize I was scolding her.

"Yeah. So...what's the plan?"
I asked, changing the subject.

"Even with the medicine, you still need to heal that leg. Stay in here for two days. Monet and I will take turns going out to hunt and see if we need to move."
Ryder said.

"These days, it's just 3 groups.
Group one: the Career pack. Including Rosemarie, Mavis, Patty, and Rex.
Then you got Roxy on her own.
And then group 3, that's us. It's only day 6 and 16 people have already died. I'll go hunt. You need some rest."

I nodded as Ryder left the cave.
