Broken- Lawlu {editing/ hiatus}

Chapter VI

Luffy opened his eyes and all he could see was the horrifying colour of fire. The strong smell of burnt wood filled his nose and he felt an immense pain from his chest. His lungs hurt everytime he took a breath, and his eyes got teary from the thick smoke.

Luffy soon heard the window beside him break and saw chunks of glass flying everywhere. He didn't see who or what broke it though.

Suddenly feeling light, he was thrown out the window, falling on the grassy field below, where Ace was. They quickly turned their gazes upwards to see Sabo, smiling down to them from the window as the fire ate him whole.

Luffy's breathing became hoarse and hasty, his breath shaky as he took a deep breath and turned his head upwards towards the dark, smoky sky above.

"SABO!!!"

Luffy shot up from the bed he'd been sleeping on. He was sweating and his tears still fell down his face, his lip quivering in sadness. As he heard a scramble in the pitch black room, he slowly turned to his side and... Saw Law standing next to him, a worried expression crossed over his face. Law saw the huge change in Luffy's eyes and the way he acted and knew he could see now, why he couldn't before was a complete mystery.

"It's okay, don't worry. Everything's fine." Law said, trying to calm Luffy down from his nightmare. Luffy only nodded and Law reached out to pat Luffy's head. Law pulled Luffy's head onto his chest and continued to pat him softly. Luffy's hands gripped onto Law's shirt as he cried his soul out.

The next morning, the doorbell rang and Lami went and opened the door to see Shachi and Penguin. She welcomed them and told them that Law hadn't unlocked the infirmary yet.

"Ugh, I can just pick lock it then. Shachi, give me a hairpin or something." Penguin sighed and Shachi pulled out one of his many hair pins which held his hair away from his face.

The clicking sound of the door unlocking was heard as Penguin managed to pick lock the darn thing and the two walked inside the room. Lami had walked away to the living room to watch a cartoon.

Penguin and Shachi were just standing in the doorway, mouths agape and eyes wide in shock.

Law was lying on the bed with Luffy on top of him. Both were sleeping, which was a huge surprise since Law almost never slept, and Law had his hand on Luffy's head, the other around Luffy's back. Luffy still had his hands gripping Law's shirt.

"Captain?" Shachi whispered out and Law cracked open an eye to look at them.

"What is it?" He whispered back, trying not to wake Luffy up. He slowly sat up so his back was pressed against the bed's headboard and then hoisted Luffy up. The younger made a slight noise of disturbance, then nuzzled into Law's shirt.

"Oi..." Law mumbled and then sighed. Shachi had fainted from the cuteness and his fall made the younger to snap up. He managed to knock into Law's chin, and the impact made his head fly into the wall. This made the older to groan loudly in pain. "You really don't like loud noises, huh?"

"..." Luffy breathed heavily and Law finally noticed that Luffy eyes were once again dimmed. Law started to think that he may have been dreaming, but then again, why was he in the bed with him? "I... Can't see..." Luffy mumbled, making Law sure that he wasn't dreaming.

"Yeah, I noticed that too." Law stated and Luffy looked down sadly. "I'm sure you will see someday again, stop looking like that."

'You won't. Don't listen to him. Don't trust him. He doesn't know anything. Stop. Talking. To. Him.'

Luffy bit his lip as he once again heard it, even more loudly than he'd ever had before...
