Broken- Lawlu {editing/ hiatus}

Chapter XIII

It was night. The moon had just risen to the sky and it's blue light illuminated the whole city. Some crickets could be heard, otherwise it was quiet. The curtains in the infirmary were all open since Luffy liked to see the sky at night.

The blue light hit Luffy straight in the face and he slowly woke up. He sat up in the bed and his head was all wobbly. As he rubbed his eyes he was wondering why he was tired all the time. Is this what Zoro is feeling all the time? It sucks. Maybe Law is putting something in his food or water to make him sleepy?

"It's probably because I can't see in the day, right?" Luffy mumbled softly and his body started to freeze from the inside. He knew what was coming.

'What the hell did ya expect? That you'd be up 'n runnin' all the fucking time like the moron you are? You're blind you shithead, get over it.' The voice spat at him, clearly annoyed. But he was right. Luffy's blind, and he himself thought that he was a moron.

"It's hard. At least you can see all the time!" Luffy angrily said back, trying for the first time in his life to talk back to it.

'NO ONE SAID I COULD SO SHUT YOUR MOUTH YOU BITCH!' The horrible voice roared so loud that Luffy didn't know what to do, he started to cry and his whole body was freezing. Everything turned dark. It was so cold. So cold.

Luffy fainted, and the room only got more and more cold. There was frost everywhere. The floor had ice on it which reflected the moon's shine beautifully around the room.

"Mugiwara- ya!?" A deep voice called and Luffy opened his eyes. It was still night. The moon still shone in the room, it was going down though. Dawn was coming in about 10 minutes...

Law sighed in relief first, until he noticed that the eyes he stared into were pale. Law's eyes widened and he gaped in shock. Luffy's eyes were glowing light blue. A creepy grin made it onto Luffy's features.

"I should kill you now when I have the fucking chance you disgusting man." Luffy said in a very deep and creepy voice, one Law has heard before. Law backed off in shock from Luffy.

"Wait. You were there. When I was burning, that was you right?!"

"So what? I told you not to go to him tonight! It's not my problem if you die of frostbite, fucker." Luffy, no, the thing inside Luffy, spat. His monotone voice started getting a little bit of life, but it didn't make it better. The glowing eyes were enough to make Law shiver.

Law stared at him in shock. Luffy just glared back and still had that grin on. It was terrifying.

"Does Shanks know about this?!" Law just asked the first question that came to his mind and Luffy stared at him confused before laughing again.

"Yeah. Since my brothers have the same thing. One of them died because of this." The thing said through Luffy's body and Law asked if they also could make things freeze. "They both create fire. Enough talk, you saw me and I can't let him live knowing someone has seen him like this. Bye bye d o c t o r~" The voice kept laughing as it slowly walked towards Law, but Law couldn't move away. He was frozen in place by this fucking thing.

Law thought a little and then he stopped making expressions. His face was stoic and he slowly opened his mouth.

"Mugiwara-ya. This isn't your fault." He said, not even looking remotely scared anymore. Like he was sure he was going to survive. Like he was reset to normal.

"Wha- hahahah! What are you talking about?!" The thing stopped right in front of Law and stared into his eyes. Even though Luffy was much shorter than Law, his glare was kinda creepy. 'Is this guy not scared of me?! ... No. He doesn't believe I can kill him. How much trust can he put into a stranger?!'

"The fact that he can't control himself and that you might kill me. I won't blame him. No one would. Please let him go. Luffy." Law continued and Luffy stared in shock. He stopped everything he was doing. Law noticed that the glow got dimmer, like the predator inside him had calmed down.

"... I had to do this. You'll understand later. But I'm not sorry. Not to you." Luffy said and let up the ice on Law's feet. "We... have been through a lot... We can't trust anyone anymore. He's terrified of me and he hates me now, I know that. But I-" The glow disappeared completely. Luffy fell to the ground and Law caught him quickly. It was dawn.

"Mugiwara- ya, wake up, come on!" Law said and shook Luffy's body around.

"Ngh... I'm tired, what's going... on..." Luffy mumbled but stopped once he opened his eyes. Law was there. He could see him.

"WHOA YOU CAN SEE NOW?!" Law asked in shock and Luffy cried as he nodded. "It's dawn. It's morning." Law continued and Luffy kept crying. "You made it."

"Mmm..." Luffy mumbled and tried to wipe his tears. "Thanks."

"Hm, what for?" Law asked and Luffy tried to stop crying. It seemed rather difficult.

"For being so nice to someone like me."
