"Shit," I mumbled, slotting the key into the keyhole giving it a harsh twist. Yet again I had forgotten breakfast and only remembered when I was half way down the street on my way to the bus stop.
Luckily, the waking up warily was great because I still had an extra half an hour before I definitely had to leave. Just enough time to scoff down whatever I wanted. As I walked in, the smell of eggs hit my nose.
"Ariyane?" I called out into the house, dropping my bag in the corridor as I walked. My voice was drowned by noise. Arctic Monkeys was blasting through the flat as she pranced around in her matching set of silk bottoms and a vest, making something.
Tip toeing quietly into the kitchen my hands raised as the hit her back with a startle. Her body shakes as she screamed out, grabbing the nearest object (a wooden spoon) and hitting me over the head with it.
"I hate you!" She hugged as she shot me a glare. Her nose scrunching up ever so slightly as she pushed me with her hands.
"That hurt!" I protested rubbing my head with my hand and sticking out my bottom lip. "I'm hungry. I forgot breakfast."
"I'm making an omelet but it's mine." Ari sneered poking her finger at me. She turned around and stirred it once more. As she swayed her hips, still in love with this music.
I sniffed the air and sighed when I realised that my sister was probably doing one of her crazy diets even though she didn't need too loose a single lb.
"Ok. I'll just grab a croissant from the draw." My hands reached the cupboard pulling it out and selecting a chocolate croissant. My stomach grumbles towards the smell and I licked my lips in delight as I took my first bite into it.
I guess you could say that food was my everything, the taste, the smell. It all drew me in and made me feel things that nothing else could."I think I'm in love." I moaned in delight and Ari rolled her eyes in response as she fiddled with the piercing that decorate the middle bottom of her lip. I never had gotten any piercings apart from my ears. Didn't really care for them, not in the same way that she did. With ten on each side of her ears looped with hoops and her nose and lip pierced, she looked a smudge intimidating.
Unlike me, I looked weak and not scared in the least. That was going to change though when I went to school and successfully showed that I could be the boss sometimes. Not just Angel with her tall stance and piercing eyes.
My phone started playing some music and I gave my sister a kiss on the cheek as I left the room. I answered with a hello and heard Eves voice on the other end in a demanding voice.
"Tell me! What happened!" Her voice sent stakes down my spine as her words rang in my ears. Se could be a little controlling when she wanted too.
"What-what do you mean?" I asked as I grabbed my bag, heading out of the door.
"Don't give me that crap! Tyler hooked up with Angel?"
"H-how did you know?" I responded, my chest feeling heavy as I started to tread to school. No point in getting the bus so I may as well walk. I still am a little early.
"Angel told that apparently, you are a boring and worthless and Tyler got bored of you just like anybody would." Her voice trailed off as she realised that her words might hurt me. I cleared my voice as I tried not to respond with to much hurt in my voice, I couldn't show anybody that inside I felt like dying. No way in hell could I.
"Yeah he cheated on me. So what?" Perfect my voice came out unbothered and like I didn't care.
"So, what are we going to do. Don't worry I despised Angel already, she always seemed off."
"No you don't have to hate her because of me. Honestly, I know you two are close," I reply, silently wishing she chooses me because I have no friends.
"No. Boyfriends are off limits to friends that's just like the rules of feminism. Now enough with the pleasantries about them. What's our plan?" Should I tell her? Can I trust her enough with my plan or will she later back stab me.
"I have one. Just meet me later, I'll see you at school or after. I don't know but love you ok?" I sigh into the phone running my fingers through my hair in frustration.
"There's one thing you need to know, Tyler and Angel are apparently a 'thing' now I don't know." I can imagine her air quoting the word thing. She hangs up with a goodbye and I carry on my journey to school.
Of bloody course they were a thing.
