My morning was going pretty mediocre on Saturday, eating bread and watching goat remixes of Taylor swift. Until someone decided to mess up my life and preparation for my job interview tomorrow by sending me a certain kind of message.
unknown number: Sweetheart?
The message startled me and I wondered who it would be, a random company trying to sell me something or a stalker. Ha- maybe a secret admirer.
Octavia: um who r u?
The next text didn't come for a while, so I decided on picking out something to wear for tonight. I knew I was going to have to look good, perhaps tonight was the night that I would maybe Tyler jealous. Maybe I won't drink though, I mean from last time I think I've taken it as a warning not to.
The sound of my phone pinging made me stop what I was doing and creep towards my phone slowly. Surely it wasn't going to be anything bad.
unknown number: so you're telling me that I'm not the only person who calls you sweetheart? I'm offended.
That's when it just clicked.
Octavia: Darian... What?
Darian: what do you mean 'what'?
Octavia: I mean what the fuck. You literally haven't spoke to me all week and you kissed me and then legged it, so what's the point of you texting me now?
The message I sent may have been a smudge harsh but it was true. I still kind of hurt inside because of what he did. It wasn't like I was catching feelings though. Right? Right.
Yep keep on convincing yourself that Octavia. Its all you can do for now.
Darian: I'm sorry.
Darian: Really sorry, can I call you? I need to talk to you.
Octavia: not right now I'm busy.
I lied to Darian before shutting my phone off and walking back to my closet. Even if he replied there's no way that I would run to my phone to check right. I can just leave him for a while.
The sound of my ringtone ran through my ears as I wearily looked at my phone. I let it ring out and smiled to myself for not answering.
Unfortunately he doesn't seem to take no for an answer because a second later, the annoying auto set ringtone flooded my room. Rolling my eyes, I walked towards it and answered it.
"What? Called me so that you can hang up mid conversation?" I snapped into the phone and instantly regretted my mean voice as soon as they left my mouth.
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry. I shouldn't of left, I don't know why I did. Well I do but-"
His voice sounded so awkward as he apologised and tripped over his words.
"Why did you leave?" I questioned and I heard him let out a heavy breath before continuing.
"I just don't want you to have to be involved in my world and by being with me, you are." He answered me in a cool voice and I heard the sound of a bus speaker come through the phone.
"Where are you going?" I wondered and was met my deep chuckle.
"I'm coming to your house." This made me shoot up and start pacing the floor.
"No your not." I replied hesitantly. There was no way he could come, I wasn't dressed!
"Yep I am. Be there in ten sweetheart." He hung the phone up and I screamed.
Running to my closet I picked out what to wear, high waisted mom jeans and a cropped white vest? Done. I slipped on a clean change of underwear before putting my clothes on.
Looking in the mirror I groaned in frustration, my hair was flying everywhere and not in a good way. Strands were mixed up and I cursed myself for not have washed it last night. Throwing it into a bun on the top of my head, I pinned the messy hairs with Bobbi pins and groaned.
My face looked a mess too I realised, as I brushed my teeth in the bathroom. After my teeth I ended up not bothering to complete a full face but instead just adding some mascara.
Ring ring
Ariyane was out, I knew that. She had decided to meet up with some friends and I gladly encouraged her. I mean, she never got to see her high school friends because of all the work she did.
But that meant one major problem, I was going to be alone with the most handsome boy in the world.
A few seconds later, I shuffled down the hallway. As I open the door, I'm greeted by a tall boy with a leather jacket and messy hair. He didn't look like he spent ages on getting ready and I don't know why but it really made my face heat up slightly.
"Come in." I gulped and stepped back. He squished past me and I almost had a heart attack when his scent filled my nose. A mixture of cigarettes, coffee and aftershave. Plus his natural scent that made my knees go weak.
I walked in front of him and somehow ended up leading him to my room. Why I did that, you tell me. His heavy shoes pounded against the floor and I felt his eyes on the back of my head.
Silence was all that could be heard as I plonked onto the middle of my bed. Him following after me and taking a seat right by me.
"You're a bastard." I choked out and he stared at me. Amusement playing in his eyes as he slid my body so that I was now facing him. The feeling of him touching me made me almost combust of sweat and tears. But, I held myself together.
"I never meant to be a bastard to you, sweetheart." Darian slightly smirked as my finger trailed the bed cover.
"Stop doing that." He groaned and placed his hand on top of mine. Make me retract my hand slowly.
"Am I a bad kisser?" I blurted out, quite loudly may I add.
"No. If I could only kiss one pair of lips for the rest of my life, it would have to be yours." He flirted, little did he know his meaningless flirtations made my breath hitch in my throat.
What was he doing to me?
