Obi-wan took a deep breath as he was sitting on his bed. He held his holo-comm in his hand, just staring at it. The sun had set just over an hour ago and Obi-wan had been waiting for Novae to fall asleep. Obi-wan's hand shook slightly as he held the holo-comm. He couldn't remember when was the last he got nervous talking to Maul. Usually, when Maul and Obi-wan argued, it was well away from Novae. Obi-wan was slightly happy that it wasn't a loud one, but that didn't make anything better.
Obi-wan had wondered if Maul was done steaming off about the argument, and if he wasn't Obi-wan would have to make sure that nothing got out of hand. Obi-wan wanted to meditate since he put Novae to bed, but he's been unable to.
What if Maul didn't want to talk to him or see him?
Obi-wan shook his head and set the holo-comm down on the desk next to his bed and pulled the commlink out from the drawer. Obi-wan didn't want to see Maul's eyes flame with anger about the argument and Obi-wan didn't want Maul to see his tears if Maul refused to come home or to just listen to him. Obi-wan knew that this was part of his fault and that he just didn't explain himself the first time, causing Maul to jump to conclusions. Obi-wan couldn't blame Maul for doing that, he always did that when something wasn't explained clearly enough to him.
Well, Obi-wan did say that every time Maul and Feral came to visit they put Novae at risk. Obi-wan understands that was why Maul came to that conclusion. Obi-wan took in more deep breaths before turning on the old commlink and attempting to contact Maul. Obi-wan sat on his bed and waited for the transmission to connect. Obi-wan held his breath as he waited for the transmission to go through and he let out a shaky breath as Maul did not pick up. Obi-wan thought he was going to end crying and be forced to wait out the night and spend the next day waiting for Maul to call or wait for a good moment to call Maul back.
Novae had her ear pressed up against the door as she heard her dad cry. Novae thought to herself and she pushed her dad's door open.
"Daddy?" Novae's soft voice caused Obi-wan to jump and quickly look at her. He wiped his eyes of the remaining tears.
"Novae! What are you doing up? You're supposed to be sleeping." Were the words that had fallen from Obi-wan's lips.
"I heard you crying, daddy. Are you feeling okay?" Novae walked up to her dad with a confused look on her face.
"I, I'm fine sweetie. Daddy... daddy just misses papa." Obi-wan quickly came up with a reason so he wouldn't have Novae worrying if Maul was ever going to come home or not. Novae gave her dad a quizzical look for a long moment before she smiled at him.
"If you miss Papa so much, then I'll sleep in bed with you tonight, daddy!" Novae decided, crawling into the bed with her dad.
"You know what Novae? Why don't we see if we can go with Auntie Viclia will let us borrow a ship in the morning, and then we can go and surprise Papa then visit grandma and Uncle Feral?" Obi-wan proposed and Nove jumped on the bed excited about finally leaving the planet. Obi-wan sighed mentally as it seemed to be the only thing to do now. Maul had a point. She was as safe on Dathomir as she was on Stewjon. With Novae being part Nightsister, Obi-wan was partially sure that the Night Clan would defend Novae if something happened. Obi-wan knew that there was the rare time that his plans were bad ones. Maybe keeping her on Stewjon was one of those bad plans.
