Maul sighed as the trip was coming to an end. He took just another moment of watching Obi-wan sleep peacefully on his lap. Maul pet Obi-wan's hair and wondered when would be the next time, that he would see his beloved Obi-wan be this peaceful when he was awake. Maul could feel Savage's eyes watch Obi-wan as well. After Maul had promised himself on the way to this 'hidden' planet, he knew he had to find a way of getting Savage to fall for the trap that he had planned. Obi-wan was certainly going to be angry at Maul at the end of it, but Maul had to end what Savage was doing once and for all. If Obi-wan or Feral didn't tell Maul what Maul knew was going to be terrible news, the plan Maul had created in his mind was the only way.
Before anything had to be done, he had to consult his mother.
Maul felt the ship touch the planet's surface and Maul knew it was time. He shook Obi-wan's shoulder. Maul felt his stomach twist as he watched Obi-wan sit up, yawn, and stretch his arm. Maul kept a calm look on his face until Obi-wan looked at him and smiled. Maul returned his mate's smile with a small one of his own as Maul told him that they landed. Maul watched as Obi-wan's smile grew bigger from the excitement. Maul knew he had to push every thought he had to the back of his mind. He couldn't let Obi-wan see what he had planned.
Little did Maul know that Obi-wan was going to drag him off of the ship in excitement. Maul felt perfectly fine with meeting Obi-wan's parents until he saw them. The surprised look on their faces had clearly screamed that they had never seen a Zabrak before. Maul knew that Vilcia had told them about Maul not being dead, but they still looked like they had seen a ghost. As Obi-wan introduced him to them, Maul heard them stumble over their words. Maul didn't take too much of it to mind since the little planet barely received any visitors.
"Oh my, Maul, your tattoos are quite impressive." Obi-wan's mother slowly spoke to Maul as her eyes traced the tattoos over his face and arms. Maul almost wished he didn't leave his robes on the ship. He could almost feel their silent fearful judgment looking over him. Maul decided to do the polite thing and respond to them.
"If you like my tattoos so much then you should see my brothers'," Maul responded as he looked behind him to only see Feral. "Feral, where is Savage?"
"Oh, he's making a call," Feral said too quick for it to be something normal. Maul's hand turned into a fist. Maul was quick to repress him snarl, already seeing Obi-wan's parents looking even more shock. When Feral looked at Obi-wan's parents, he would say that they were scared of him and Maul.
"To mother, I think." Feral spoke again putting an emphasis on the word mother. Maul knew at this point that Feral also wanted to keep everyone at the current scene calm and relaxed.
"Mother, you say? Hmm, well I should go get him. I do have a few questions to ask her about Obi-wan's pregnancy," Before Maul could get to his next word Obi-wan cut him off.
"You better not ask her anything specific about the baby, I told you I want it to be a surprise for both of us Maul!" Obi-wan's words were sharp and deadly. Maul never thought any of Obi-wan's words would ever sound deadly as they just did.
"Of course Obi-wan, but even my bothers and I are clueless to exactly how long Dathomirian pregnancies are. I promise I will only ask simple answers about it. If not, may your lightsaber strike me through!" Maul said sarcastically. Obi-wan was quick to go silent at the sentence. Obi-wan could tell that there was sarcasm in his voice, but just hearing him say that made Obi-wan scared that he was going to lose Maul again and it brought tears to Obi-wan's eyes.
Seeing Obi-wan tear up at what he said had physical made Maul jump back in surprise. Feral and Obi-wan's parents were also surprised by Maul's reaction not expecting something like that to happen.
