Chapter 22- Rejection, Ryan, Uncles

I opened my eyes and I was laying on my bed, in Mason's arms. For a minute I thought that I was home, and next to me was my asshole brother, just playing another trick on me.

But then I heard Mason's voice "Hello cutie pie, how are you feeling?"

And that moment I remembered everything. "Fine"

"And you're not lying to me right?"

I looked straight into his face and said "Mason I promise I'm fine, I don't know what that was but I'm fine"

And I was telling the truth, that nap helped a lot.

"Mason what time is it?"

"Its 1:34"

"Omg! I slept that long don't we have meetings all day."

"Yea but I told them that you weren't feeling well, and they re-scheduled them to 3."

"Oh that's good. So what do you want to do until then?"

"Well Caitlyn, do you want to meet my best friend."

"You mean you friend Ryan, not really he's a huge jack-ass."

"That was only to you, because he knew."

"WHAT!! YOU TOLD HIM THAT I WAS YOUR MATE!!! BUT NOT ME!! Wait! So that makes no sense why he was mad at me."

"I had to tell him, in 5th grade he started to form a little crush on you and I had to let him know your mine. He was pissed off, and he told me he got over you, but I'm his best friend he never got over you."

"So he was mean to me because?"

"You know guys there mean to the ones they love."

"Oh then you must really love me."

He gave me a quick kiss on my lips, and I smiled at him and he said "Let's go"

He took my hand, we walked downstairs and I saw my mother on the couch with a cup of coffee and she was watching the news "Look who is feeling better"

"Oh well the nap helped"

"That's good, where are to two heading off to?"

"Well I wanted to go meet up with Ryan"

"Oh okay be back by 3"

Mason and I walked outside and walked to the park, hand in hand the whole time.

I soon as we arrived I saw Ryan on a bench.

He looked really lonely, at that moment I realized something and asked Mason.

"Mason I have a question?"

We stopped walking and he looked down at me and opened his mouth to speak "and what would that be?"

"How is Ryan here, shouldn't he be on his 10 year adventure with his mate."

"Oh, his mate rejected him."

"But shouldn't he be dead then."

"No not really, everyone just told you that I would die so you would kiss me and we can move on, they didn't want you to reject me, they don't know what happens when a hybrid rejects a wolf, and they didn't want to find out. When I wolf rejects a wolf what happens is they both do go through depression, and never can be fully happy every again."

"Aww that's so depressing, why did she reject him?"

"Well you remember Amber?"

"Amber as the girl Ryan knocked up at 15, and didn't care."
