Chapter 28- Shoe tying, Apple Court, Fairy Tales

As soon as Trevor let me go I started running and as soon as my bare feet hit the cold floor I stopped. I took a few deep breaths and walked upstairs to Cole's room. I could feel a few tears going down my face and I just brushed them aside.

I opened the bedroom door to see Cole tying his shoes. He didn't see me but said a simple "Hey"

"Hello."

I looked around the room trying to face anything but him. I couldn't tell him. As long as I stay close to him nothing will happen. There's no need to worry him.

Cole finished his shoe tying. He stood up and gave me a sweet kiss and he looked into my eyes and said "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I forced a smile so Cole would believe me.

Cole was still looking in my eyes to see if I was lying. He then looked down at my cheek and gently brushed it and said "You were crying."

"I have allergies."

He took a step closer to me and started getting angry and said. "Caitlyn tell me what's wrong."

"You know I think we should go pay my brother a visit."

I started to turn around but Cole grapped my wrist and spun me around. "What's wrong?"

I looked into Coles eyes and practically broke down.

"Z-Zack umm..."

"Did he hurt you?" Cole looked pissed off.

"Well he held me captive and said he was going to kill me..."

Cole started walking to the door and I ran and tried to block it.

"But he didn't!"

"SO!"

I could see the anger in Cole, that's actually all I could see in Cole.

"He did it because he wanted Caitlyn!"

"What do you mean?"

"He told Caitlyn that she has to forget about Mason or I die."

I knew I shouldn't have told Cole this. He easily opened the door and ran downstairs and I ran after him.

I saw Caitlyn and Mason making out by the front door.

They pulled away as soon as Cole came running down the stairs screaming "WHERE IS HE."

Mason was trying to calm Cole down but that was never going to happen, "Cole he is gone, if he comes back I'll deal with him myself."

"WHERE IS HE?"

As soon as Cole said that the front door opened, and out came Zack.

Before any of us could do anything Cole jumped him and was beating the crap out of him.

Mason was trying to get Cole of him but he just kept getting pushed down. Caitlyn was screaming for her brother to stop and she started crying in Mason's arms.

So I had to do something. I took a few steps closer and closer and said "Cole stop!"

He didn't do anything he just kept beating up Zack.

I tried again "Cole stop!" and again no answer.

I then realized that Cole isn't going to listen to me, so the only thing I could do was get involved.

I took a risky move and stood in front of Zack, Of course I got hit in the eye. That's going to look gross in the morning. But right at that moment Cole stopped. I saw the anger pour out of him and turn into sorrow. He pulled me into his arms and said "I'm so sorry, are you ok?"

I nodded and moved him away from Zack and as he fell on the floor Caitlyn was screaming but Mason was holding her back.

Cole brought Emily upstairs to check her eye out. And all I saw was Zack covered in blood, and he was passed out. Well I didn't even know if he was alive. I tried to run to his side but Mason kept pulling me back. "Mason let go."

"Why do you care what happens to him?"

"Mason I still care about him, I care if he dies."

Mason looked stunned at what I just said and I was able to get out of his arms and run to Zack's side, I took his pulse and it was barley there. I pulled out my cell phone and called 911

"Hello what's your emergency?"

"I need an ambulance at 23 Apple Court in Smithville; right away he barley has a pulse."

"We will be right there."

I just sat there holding Zack's hand and waiting for the ambulance. Mason finally snapped out of it and tried to get me to go upstairs but I wouldn't listen so he just waited by the door.

10 minutes later Mason said "There here."

It took them at least 2 minutes to get out but as soon as they came in the house they were all surrounding Zack. A lady told me to move so they can try to save him and I just went back to Mason's arms.

What felt like hours later, I saw the paramedic look up at the nurses and just shake his head.

I started screaming, Mason of course tried to calm me down but it wasn't going to work.

Zack was dead. My Zack was gone. Just if the fairy tales were true were vampires lived forever. But that's not reality. The reality is that Zack is gone. The vampire part of me's mate was gone. And most important, the father of my baby is dead.
