We arrived to what looked like a typical city council room somewhere within the Orlando Tower. I had a bodyguard of sorts at my side as Mr. Saber was taking his place at the half moon shaped table that contained several seats, all of them had other vampires sitting in them already. Lady Delilah took her place by my side as we sat at one of two tables in the room.
The entrance doors to the council opened up and in walked Liam, Issac and Thomas. Liam was walking with his usual cane that was topped with a silver wolf's head. It was weird and kind of uncomfortable seeing Thomas wearing a suit. I gave them an eager smile but not a single one of the returned any sort of acknowledgement to me.
'I'm sure they are just trying to remain professional.' I thought to myself as I turned my attention to the council members.
"It is most appreciative that we could be in the Orlando Council's presence on such short notice." Liam began speaking, breaking the silence of the room. "After consideration it is in the best interest for Miss Burns that she is given a permanent residency here. My family and I, while were able to provide a minimum refuge, we are not the most ideal to keep her safety as a top priority."
As I listened to those words come from Liam I felt a part of me shatter again. I looked in their direction hoping one of the three would glance over to see the hurt and confustion on my face.
"Master Liam Holdcraft of the Southeastern Werewolf Pack, are you sure this is what you wish to do?" Mr. Saber spoke up first. "A decision like this will be detrimental on Miss Burns and while being among her own kind would please us, however she should have a much more stable, constant environment."
"Mr. Saber, and the Orlando Council," Liam turned his head for a moment toward Lady Delilah, "Lady Delilah," he turned his head back toward the council members. "The girl is not only a young human but she is still new to being a vampire. She is lost, confused and the guidance I thought I could provide was not the best. I swore to help her in need in return for her actions in New Orleans, but that debt has been repaid multiple times."
I looked to Lady Delilah in shock with my mouth open trying to determine what I should blurt out. She looked over at me and lifted my chin to close my mouth with a hand while shaking her head.
"Mr. Holdcraft, I speak for the Orlando Council as well as the Grand Council in hoping we can all agree that the young girl will be kept safely here." Mr. Saber stated, earning nods from the other vampires in the room.
I started to clench my jaw trying to hold back the anger building inside of me. I was again an item to be shuffled between hands as if I was no longer a person. I caught a side glance from Lady Delilah who attempted to place a comforting hand on my shoulder. I slammed my hands on the table as I stood up.
"WHAT ABOUT WHAT I WANT?" I shouted causing everyone to turn to my direction with angry glares.
"Young miss you will hold your tongue in this council chamber. Your sire may have spoiled you with outbursts, but it will be tolerated here." Hissed from a female council member.
"You are getting what you wanted, young one." I heard from Liam. I attempted to rush over to him but Lady Delilah and another vampire took a hold of me to keep me from doing so. I was so angry that I was losing control of myself causing black dots to scatter around in my vision.
"Child control yourself!" Screamed Lady Delilah.
"Snap her neck and remove her at once!" I heard from someone else in the room.
"Oh no, the Disney queen is throwing a tantrum." I could heard from Thomas with a cold and hallow tone in his voice.
I stopped trying to fight being held back and my anger began to subside as emotional pain took over. I looked at the necklace I had intertwined with my bracelet. I pulled it off my wrist and ripped off the necklace Liam had given me that I had never taken off since it was given to me. Using all of my strength I threw both items in Liam's direction. Thomas caught my necklace in attempt to catch both items. Liam caught the other item, not even turning his head to judge when to catch it.
