Once we were finally alone we entangled ourselves in each other's embrace. When I was with my sire, we were quite active but this was much different than being with a vampire. Master Liam always made time and no one dared bother to interrupt us. He treated me with passion and caring which made me really wonder what my life would've turned out had Trent not died in New Orleans.
I laid snuggled in the crook of Master Liam's arm, my ear pressed against where his heartbeat would be, listening to it's calm rhythmic beating. He had fallen asleep and I was watching Netflix as I had already wanted to do that. The rhythmic beating changed enough for me to notice and became offbeat. The sudden change in Master Liam's heartbeat was also followed by him suddenly rolling over yelling out in pain.
It was over as fast as it had happened and Master Liam sat up in the bed panting. I looked at him with worried eyes waiting for him to explain what happened. He head up a finger to his ear then pointed to the door where I heard various other voices of those in the house cry out, a few even swearing rather colorfully.
"Back before modern technology, about twelve hours before the eclipse that happens. It gets worse as time draws closer to it. It's like we are slowly being forced to shapeshift and it never gets any easier." He informed me before pulling me close to kiss my forehead. "I didn't mean to scare you, Young One."
I stayed up the rest of the night as the sounds of everyone sporadically crying out in pain throughout the house was too much to tune out, even with headphones in my ears.
The next morning I made way downstairs and everyone was acting as if they were on edge. I was wearing a skimpy tank top and shorts before coming back down.
I was attempting to pour a glass of blood when Thomas took my hand and pressed against his face. "Oh God, that feels so good on my skin." He was shirtless and started pressing my hand against various parts of his face and chest while I looked at him confused.
He felt like he was on fire and my zero body temperature must of felt soothing. Given any other day I may of not allowed him to do this. I felt a set of warm hands come to a rest on my shoulders before a set of lips pressed against my neck. It was Master Liam and I was losing myself in my own thoughts from the sounds of everyone's erratic off beating heartbeats.
"Ok, I'm now feeling uncomfortable. D-do I need to go upstairs to wait for you guys to be done with all of this." I tried to manage to say because I really didn't want Master Liam to stop but I actually felt uncomfortable as I zipped out from in between them.
I took a seat at the kitchen counter and drank my glass of blood. I was proud I had finally managed to grown used to the taste of animal blood. It still tasted off and I'm sure if I ever ended up in the unfortunate situation where I'd only have human blood to drink I'd most likely go binge drinking. Here's to hoping I never end up in that situation as I raised my glass toasting to the thoughts in my head.
"So does this all start when the eclipse happens or when it's close to us?" I asked trying my best to not feel out of place.
"It's when it starts to when it ends it's whole path. Supposed to be about 9 am pacific time to around 4 pm eastern time." Thomas said as he was now sitting on the ground against the fridge with both hands holding onto his hair and banging his head softly against the fridge.
I looked at the clock, it was already 10 am eastern time. Most of the people staying here were out in the backyard preparing for when the eclipse was supposed to begin.
"This makes a little bit no sense, wouldn't you only shift when the eclipse is over here?" I asked trying to remember what I was told.
"That's not how magic works. Can't you listen for once, damn." Issac snapped at me who was laying on the couch in the living room. Master Liam was sitting at the dining table as he let out an annoyed sigh as well.
