Of course, being incredibly rich and smart, means being sheltered, inwardly tortured and kept captive by your family.-business, I mean. I was the youngest child in our family, in which I have two older brothers. Of course, as the youngest, I was expected to top the academic performances of the ones before me, being that my brothers were WAY smarter than me. Our family consists of the country's top businessmen and CEO's by the way, and all of us were pretty much spoonfed on taking over the family companies, whether we liked it or not.
And as a graduating student, my family made sure that I would go to a great college, like Harvard or Princeton. And with my father's word being 'the law of our house', of course I'd just ended up doing pretty much what my older brtohers have done.- Study hard, Follow Dad, SHUT UP.But for me though, I already had plans of my own. But you just can't compete with my father, he's real scary, I'll tell you that.- REAL SCARY. I'd try to tell him I want to go on a different direction but it'll just end up the same old way:
"Dad, please. I just...I just think being a businessman is not what I see for mysel-" i said, but was rudely cut off.
"Hey! Do not give me another one of your crappy explanations on being a doctor because I worked hard to make sure you grew up well. I don't need to hear all those bullshit stuff because you're gonna be a businessman, whether you like it or not. I worked my ass off to make sure all of you are ready to take over our compa-" he said, but I cut him off.
"Dad, don't you have enough businessmen taking over the company?" i said, staring at my brothers. They seemed to agree but when I looked at my father, he was furious, and more intimidating, being that he's always wearing a suit even though it was over 80 degrees outside.
"Look," he said.
Uh-oh. This ain't gonna end well.
I knew when my father talked like that, there was no way on getting out of it-like, No Way.
"You are my son, you will take over the company, you will be a businessman, better yet my CEO and you will do what I say, got it?" he said with the most frightening glare at me. I just bobbed my head 'yes' and mouthed the words "yes, sir" with a lame try for a salute.
"Good. Case closed." he said, quickly dismissing the subject.
"Now you'll be graduating on June and I've already picked the right college for you. Harvard University."
I felt myself panic. Jane's going to University of North Carolina and I already said I'd join her to study Medicine for me and Primary Education for her, but she seemed so happy and excited that I just couldn't have the guts to say 'no' to her, but with my father, there's just no getting out. There was only one thing to do.- Tell her the truth.
