Eleeza couldn't believe what Meino had just said. See? He could make her see? Did he have something that would allow her to see? Could this be real?

She tried to calm her hope that had sparked hearing those words. The men wouldn't give that advantage away, it was easier to keep a blind person prisoner. Why should they do it? And anyway, Lenrio didn't seem as if he was very fond of her. He wouldn't approve of this. Well, he shouldn't approve of the fact that Meino gave her gifts at all, yet he seemed to tolerate it.

With quite some doubts on her mind, Eleeza let the blindfold slip from her eyes and opened them. Familiar silver light filled her sight. But then something strange happened. A blurred picture slowly took form in her mind.

It was a fragment of a quite shabby room that must once have been grand. She could see an old door, made of a dark wood. Elegant carvings were on it. She had touched them before whilst exploring the room and was pleased that she had imagined it pretty well. The walls next to it were wallpapered with small flowers. The wooden floor was grey, dusty and smoothened by age.

The most attention however was caught by a very tall man. His head with very blond hair was only half visible. He had a sharp face with a soft chin and no beard. She couldn't identify the colour of his eyes, but it was unmistakable that his skin was too smooth for a human man. His body was muscular and slender. Strange black clothes with a white swirling pattern covered him almost completely leaving a gab on his breast for a clear look on his six-pack.

Even after all this time Eleeza was able to judge the beauty of him by looking at him with a bit of magic: he might seem stunning at first glance, but he clearly wasn't all too handsome. And knowing his mind wasn't pretty adding to what she could read on his face, she couldn't find much beauty in him anyway. Her disgust grew. Eleeza thought him an obnoxious, smug and egoistic guy. But she guessed that wasn't the result Meino had intended.

"Do you enjoy the sight?", he asked smugly right away.

"How is that possible?", Eleeza asked instead curiously, ignoring his question. She turned the strange item with great care in her hands and with it the splinter of her vision changed. It was as if she stood in front of a white window which missed a piece through which she could have a look in the room behind. When she shifted, the angle of sight changed accordingly.

Meino sighed: "It is a Horreummeomrial. A magical item. It looks like a simple piece of an ordinary mirror. But what the mirror captures is being transported on the mind of the person holding it. It kind of skips your eyes, that's why you are able to see even being cursed."

Eleeza nodded in understanding and awe. It was amazing to see something again. She turned around to have a look at the whole room and Cathryn. But Meino's steps neared and he snatched the mirror from her hands.

"Meino, please. Can I not keep it? It means very much to me to see again!" She tried to beg. Now that her sight returned to blandness, she realised just how much even that short glance had meant to her.

He snickered: "I will let you have another look for a kiss. You might even keep it for the day – if you'd sleep willingly with me. But keep it? No way."

Disgusted Eleeza turned around. It truly wasn't worth betraying Evan and herself for just another glace: "If that's so, then no. Keep the mirror."

She turned to where she assumed the table was, after a few steps she reached it and felt for the chair.

"What is it you want me to craft today?", she asked coldly, hiding her despair and sadness. Meino was cruel! It was better if she ignored it, forgot about that mirror that held so many chances for her.
