This chapter is dedicated to Maizlynn for figuring out Tabul's warning to Kouen. She correctly said that "Beware the flower" meant beware Hana because "Hana" is Japanese for flower.

Time seemed to slow down. Too much was happening at a time and I looked around in a haze.

Kouen is weak and bleeding.

Lucious had led us into a trap.

Hana was a spy and had a knife to my throat.

And me? I am pregnant and useless.

My emotions burned my throat and hot tears fell from my eyes. How did it end up like this? I never asked for this, all I wanted was to be a happy. Now Tabul is dead, my family is in danger, and someone I trusted betrayed me.

"Hana, why?" I croaked out, "I thought you were my friend."

"Please, we were never friends. Everything was staged. From the time I rescued you in the bath to this very morning." Hana hissed out as she pulled the knife closer.

"What?"

"You really are a an idiot. The only reason Lucious didn't drown you in the bath was so I could rescue you and gain your trust. It worked like a charm. If only you had drank the poisoned tea, then this whole mess would have been over with a long time ago. Now we are going to have to kill you and Kouen directly. I hate having to get my hands bloody, they're still not clean from Tabul's blood." Hana said.

They're still not clean from Tabul's blood. They're still not clean from Tabul's blood. They're still not clean from Tabul's blood. They're still not clean from Tabul's blood.

My body went cold, the one who killed Tabul was Hana.

"Don't you dare say his name again." I choked out as fresh tears fell from my eyes. Hana drew close to my ear and whispered:

"Ta-bul."

I snapped. Whipping my head down I bit Hana's arm. She was not prepared and dropped the knife as she screamed in pain. I kicked at her knee and she fell. A loud crack sounded as she landed on the floor. Hana screamed for Lucious to help her, but he simply watched with a sick gleam in his eye. Fear entered Hana's eyes as I picked up the fallen knife. She tried to crawl away, but her injured leg prevented her from moving much.

"W-wait! Please stop! It wasn't my idea! It was all Lucious! Sindri!"Hana screeched out, snot and tears trailed her face. I stood above her, no mercy in my heart.

"I am Sindri Ren, First Princess of Sindria, Wife to Crown Prince Kouen Ren and Future Empress of the Kou Empire. You  have threatened my family, made several attempts on my life and killed my loyal companion Captain Tabul of the First Royal Army. You have forfeited your right to live the moment you decided to oppose me. Now, perish."

Hana screamed as I brought the knife down. Blood splattered my face. I twisted the knife and then yanked it out.

"That was so hot."

I turned to see Lucious with his sword to Kouen's neck. Kouen barely had his eyes open, his body had reached its limit. My heart ached to see him in such a defeated state.

"Let him go." I demanded.

"You know, I was planning on getting rid of you along with Kouen, but I just had a better idea. I'll take you and replace Kouen as that kid's father and your husband. It's a win win for me, not only will I get a babe of a wife I also get the next in line for the Kou Empire on my side. Much better than my original plan." Lucious grinned.

"You're demented if you think I'll let you do that." I snarled.

"As if you have a choice. Kouen is completely out of Magoi, making him useless to stop me and I'll pump you so full of drugs that you'll obey my every command." Lucious taunted.

I stood there not knowing what to do. I can't take on Lucious and win, and what makes me angry is that Lucious know it.

"You can't get away with this." I stammered out

"Sweetheart, I already have."

My body froze. The familiar feeling of helplessness settled into my bones. Lucious has won, and I have lost everything precious to me.

From the corner of my eye I saw a single fluttering Rukh. My legs felt weak as I recognized it as Tabul. Tears filled my eyes as it came closer and fluttered close to my face.

"I'm sorry." I whispered, "I got you killed and now I'm giving up."

Tabul continued to flutter around my face. The coldness left my bones and was replaced by warmth. Suddenly an idea popped into my head. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath.

"Well sweetheart, finally decided to come with me or shall I kill Kouen right now and take you?" Lucious smirked.

"I'll tell you what I've decided. Phoenix, I command you! Come to me now!"  I shouted.

Lucious looked at me with a weird expression before bursting out laughing.

"You can't control the djinn of others." Lucious laughed.

Lucious suddenly stopped and turned in horror at the light coming from Kouen's metal vessel.

"I come at your call, my king."

"Phoenix, take the rest of my Magoi and the Magoi I took from Kouen and give it to him." I commanded.

"Your will is my command."

The light from the metal vessel disappeared and Lucious looked at me in disbelief.

"How did you do that?"

"You claim to know all about Kouen's transfer of Rukh to save my life. I'm surprised that you didn't think that his Rukh that I have can be used to command his djinns? You must be a big idiot." I taunted.

Before Lucious could reply a bright light erupted from me. I fell to my knees as my Magoi flowed out from me and into Kouen. I looked up at Tabul's Rukh, sadness filled me as it slowly faded from view.

"Goodbye." I whispered for the final time to Tabul.

Pain racked my body as the last of my Magoi left my body. I gasped as an empty feeling filled my body. I looked up at Lucious, his face was red with anger and his fists were shaking.

"You bitch!" Lucious screamed as he rushed at me. I closed my eyes and held up my arms to protect myself. I heard a loud grunt and and thud. I looked up and saw Kouen standing above Lucious with a sword to his throat.

"Don't you dare attack my wife!" Kouen snarled. His body gave off a fierce energy. Tears of relief filled my eyes. Kouen growled at Lucious and knocked him out with a blow to the head with the hilt of the sword. Lucious' eyes rolled to the back of his head and blood trickled from where Kouen hit him.

"Kouen!" I exclaimed as I got up and ran up to Kouen.  I latched onto him and began crying. Kouen lifted my face and wiped my tears away.

"I'm here. Don't worry, you're safe." Kouen said as he soothed my hair.

Then Kouen leaned down kissed me. I grabbed his face and kissed him for the first time with all my heart.

A nice sweet ending for this turbulent journey. Sindri and Kouen have finally connected. I literally had chills while writing this chapter. This story is coming to a close, a big thanks to all who have read and voted.
