The Orchid (Colby Brock)

Picking day (Chapter 2.)

- Brie's POV -

'Hey, I'm Kasey.' A girl with perfect white teeth and gorgeous brunette curly hair tied neatly back into a ponytail peered at me through the bushes of berries.

'Oh, no don't talk to her she won't reply.' Colby turned around joining our conversation, well it was just Colby and Kasey flirting. I don't know why but it irritated me. I continued to pick berries while they chatted over the bushes. Colby finally went back to picking and leaving Kasey to start talking to me again. 

'Sorry, I didn't catch your name.' She smiled. 

'It's, uh Brie.' Wow that came out awkwardly. 

'Well Brie, come over tonight in your pj's and we'll watch a cute movie.' A cute movie? Right. 

'Ok..cool.' I said with a smile. I wasn't too happy it meant I had to socialise which definitely wasn't my thing  and what the fuck was a cute movie? I knew it wouldn't be my thing.

 I headed out the door in my bright pink velvet pyjama booty shorts and a matching spaghetti strap crop top. I slid on my fluffy pink slides and as soon as I touched the cool door handled Colby spoke. 

'Hey, have you seen Sam?' I shook my head politely and smiled. He narrowed his eyes at me 

 'Why don't you talk?' He said in a snarky tone. I shrugged. 

'Dunno, don't have too?' I made it sound like a suggestion instead of an answer. I just really don't like talking because I feel like I'm so awkward.  

'I have to go now, I'll see you I.. guess.' Well that was bloody awkward I headed out the door as quickly as I could and turned to see Colby peering out the little kitchen window at me. He was so weird. 

I headed for Kasey's cabin as soon as I reached the door to knock it flew open making me jump a little.

 'Hii!' Kasey squealed my god was she loud. I just smiled as she talked on and on through out the night, I didn't even get to watch the 'cute' movie. Man this girl could talk

-Colby's POV - 

I don't know I feel about Brie. She was different definitely different, but something about her intrigued me. She was cute. Green eyes, blonde hair. She definitely looked hot in her pyjamas but I dunno I'll have to see I guess.  

I plopped myself on the bed which I had been sleeping on for the past week to watch a movie. I ended up choosing the netflix series; The end of the fucking world. I was on the 5th episode when I felt my eyes growing thick with sleep until I finally gave in and fell asleep.

I felt myself being shaken awake which I hated. I opened my eyes to find a pair of vibrant green eyes staring at me.Brie. What a bitch why did she wake me?

 'Ugh, what?' I said frustrated and tired as I rolled back over. 

'Sorry, its just um you're kind of in my bed.' I sat up quickly realising that I had to sleep with Sam now. I had been sleeping on this bed for the last week. Good one Colby. 

 'Shit, sorry I'd be sleeping on this bed for a while.' She giggled as I slid into my own bed noticing Sam still wasn't here. It wasn't like Sam to have disappeared, my thoughts wandered about where he was at as I drifted off again. 

- Brie's POV -

Colby had made my bed warm by falling asleep on it. As I closed my eyes I breathed in deeply smelling Colby's cologne which smothered my blanket he smelled so good. I feel into a deep sleep thinking of him. Why the fuck was I thinking of him? He hadn't exactly been nice to me.

I was awoken by a squeaky door being closed quietly. I sat up abruptly seeing a shadow in the darkness. 

'Shit I was kind of hoping you'd be a heavy sleeper like Colby.' Sam chuckled. 

'Where were you?' I asked curiously.

'Woww! The girl speaks.' Colby said in a sleepy state. Sam flicked on the light, which completely blinded me, as my eyes I adjusted I looked at Colby who was shirtless. I quickly looked away feeling myself blushing like one of there fan girls. He began questioning Sam and where he'd been and Sam talked about some girl named Katrina it was cute how Colby was protective of Sam. I rolled over and fell back to sleep ready for another stupid day of picking in the sun.
