'Brie you have to tell me what's going on.' Colby tilted my chin so I was looking into his electric blue eyes. I pouted and breathed in deeply through my nose, I had to tell him about Brennen but I didn't want him to get mad.

'Well,' I began shifting uncomfortably as Colby's eyes stared me down intensely his hand still in mine. 'You know how I went to Brennen's?'

He nodded slowly, gripping my hand slightly tighter.

'Colby promise you won't get super mad?' I asked with a slight plead in my voice. He looked at me chewing the inside of his check.

'Okay.' He said short and quick making sure it wasn't convincing, I chose not  to protest.

'Well he said he doesn't like us together, and..' I began taking a shaky breath in. 'He called me beautiful.'

'So you're crying over that?' Colby frowned. Staring at me under his dark eyebrows making his eyes look cold. I shook my head like a child, blinking back my tears before I continued my story.

'And I told him that I, that I love you.' I watched as Colby's eyes lit up. 'And he said you don't love me back not like he does.'

I buried my face into Colby's chest who was now wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts he wrapped his arm around my neck and kissed me on the forehead.

'I do love you.' He muttered into my hair. 'So fucking much.'

I sucked in a breath of air, and smiled. Cuddling him tightly I closed my heavy eyes.

'But that's not what I'm upset about. Well it is but he tried to kiss me Colby.'

Colby grabbed both my shoulders firmly and pushed me back.

'What the fuck?' He snapped. My eyes were wide, did he think I agreed to it?

'Yeah, why else would I be crying? He kissed me and when I tried to pull away he only gripped me tighter, so I had to kick and squirm to get out of his hold.'

Colby stared at me fury rising in his eyes. He was tense and angry.

'I have to see him.' He spoke through gritted teeth. I groaned I was so tired and just wanted to sleep.

'Do it tomorrow Colby it's like 4:00 am.' It didn't take much to convince him to stay and cuddle up with me. My breathing became a slower as I drifted off to sleep on Colby's chest.

                                                                                        ***

I woke up, my eyelids heavy. I was alone in Colby's bed. I was alone in Colby's room. I slipped out of his bedroom, yawning and stretching out like a cat.  I quietly tapped down the stairs, unsure if anyone else was awake.

I headed toward the kitchen peaking in to see Sam on the phone his back facing me.

'Come on Colby, pick up pick up.' He muttered to himself. After around 30 seconds he left a voicemail.

'Hey Colby it's Sam again, can you please come home it's not worth it.' He hung up and I heard the sound of keys being typed rather quickly.

'Is everything okay?' I squeaked nervously fiddling with my thumbs staring at the ground.

'Uh hey Brie, yeah everything's fine don't worry.' He smiled trying to reassure me, I bit my lip averted my eyes anywhere but Sam.

'Where is Colby?' I asked trying to act as if I was convinced even though Sam knew I wasn't.

'He's out.' Sam lied. 'Gone to get something from the store.'

My eyes squinted at Sam, I folded my arms harshly . I didn't like Sam lying to me, I didn't like anyone lying to me.

'You don't need to lie, Sam. Just please tell me where Colby is.' I spoke softly but not breaking eye contact with him. He let out a stressed breath of air.

'I can't Brie. I promised Colby and he said you'd try to stop it.' He whined as if he wanted to tell me.

'Stop what?' I asked curiously hoping Sam would take my bait. I assumed Colby was at Brennen's but I didn't want to believe it.

'No Brie, I'm not falling for that.' He spoke sternly. Dang.

'Okay..well I'll wait here then. If he's at the store he won't be long then.' I said propping myself up on the counter crossing my arms.

'He might be a while.' Sam chimed. Walking out of the kitchen.

'I can keep myself company.' I smiled back. I pulled open my phone and to text Colby.

Where are you?

I quickly realised I wasn't going to get a reply, so I opened up Instagram.

                                                                                      * * *

2 hours had past quickly coming to 3.I was now lying on the counter listening to music. Sam would occasionally walk past to check if have giving up yet. I was so close to going home, but I stuck it out. I needed to know what Colby was doing. The song 'Love is strange -Mickey and Sylivia' was playing when my iPhone made its ping sound, it was Colby.

Coming home now babe

A smile spread across my lips as I typed.

I've been waiting for ever. I know something's up Colby

I switched my phone off and continued listening to my music, humming slightly. Sam popped his head into the kitchen to see if I was still hanging around I turned my head.

'He'll be here soon.' I said pulling an earphone out, unable to control my crazy smile. Sam rolled his eyes he really didn't think I was going to wait it out. I turned my head back toward the ceiling letting the melodies fill my head.  It took 30 minutes for Colby to get home. But as soon as I heard the door crack open I bolted up right.

I pulled the head phones out of my ears as I strolled out to the huge hallway to where Colby would be. He had a target bag in his hand and a fake smile plastered across his face, I raised my eyebrows in response to his strange actions.

'Hey babe, what's up?' He said wrapping an arm around before giving me unusual quick peak on the check before quickly walking up the stairs.

'Colby?' I asked quickly following him up the stairs. He was acting so normal but in my gut I knew something was off.

'Yeah?' He asked in a chirpy tone not looking behind him to make eye contact with me. I furrowed my brows in confusion. What was going on?

'Where were you?'

'Target.'

'Liar.' I hissed making Colby stop before reaching his room and spinning on his heels. He had his eyes glued on me. I folded my arms stomping one foot on the ground.

'I am not a liar Brie.' He smiled not daring to break eye contact.

'You're a shit liar Colby, I'm going home. Don't bother calling unless you're going to tell the truth.' I spat making sure to get the satisfaction of Colby's jaw dropping before I swiftly turned around and bounced down the steps.

'Byee Sam!' I called out in a happy tone to fuck Colby off. Two could play petty games I thought as I walked out of the house.
