I woke up my face pressed against the warm chest of Colby. I rolled over and Colby let out an over exaggerated grunt followed by a yawn.

'Well good morning to you too.' I said in a raspy morning voice with a little bit of tone. I felt him laugh.

'Woke up on the wrong side of the bed?' He grinned. I rolled over to frown at him and I locked my green eyes with his electric blue ones. I shook my head as an answer to his question.

'I just woke up in the wrong bed.' I said jumping out, I was in one of Colby's t-shirts and my underwear we had crashed at his place last night so I stole his t-shirt as pyjamas.

'You still look hot.' Colby said as he watched me in a comfortable position from his bed. I was pulling up my black shorts. I planned on going to the mall today, I'm sure Colby would be fine alone for a few hours. Plus I needed new clothes and makeup. I rolled my eyes at the shirtless boy.

'I'm going to the mall today. You'll be fine on your own right?' I said raising an eyebrow with my concern. He smiled at me showing his perfect teeth.

'Of course I will, come here before you leave I need a kiss.' I smirked at his cheesiness before giving him a quick kiss and leaving, still wearing Colby's shirt.

I left the house no one seemed to be awake yet when I trudged down stairs as it was dead silent. I opened the creaky front door to be hit with a gush of fresh air.  I breathed in before hobbling over to my car with a bounce in my step. As I got in my car deciding to head home before hitting up the closest mall.

The keys rattled as I unlocked my door to my apartment. The door cracked open and I inspected the house, from my front door you could see my living room kitchen the back of the stair case and the door that lead to my art studio. I smiled everything looked like the way I left it; clean, but it looked lived in still unlike my mothers house. My Mum always kept things immaculate everything perfect, I hated it when my Dad was alive it looked like someone actually lived in it. But I suppose cleaning was a way to deal with grief for my mum. That's why my apartment had a clean but lived in feel to it . I strolled over to my stair case before trudging up to my room before deciding what to wear. I ended up deciding on;

As soon as I was ready I headed out the door straight for the mall, my first stop; forever 21

As soon as I was ready I headed out the door straight for the mall, my first stop; forever 21.

                                                                                          ***

After hours of shopping around, I was really starting to regret not bringing Colby along with me because I was really struggling to carry all these bags. I was onto my last shop Sephora. I walked in to be greeted by an employer I repaid her with a polite smile before scanning the makeup. I wanted knew highlighter so I was on the hunt. After finding the perfect highlighter and going to pay a I got a call. From Aaron?

'Hey, what's up?' I asked confused as for why he was calling, Aaron had never called me before.

'Brie y-you need to get here n-now.' Aaron's distressed voice replied.

'Why? What's going on?' I asked now obviously concerned.

'Just,' He sighed a shaky breath. 'Just get here.'

The line went dead. What the hell?

I scurried out of the mall dragging all of my bags along with me before quickly throwing it in the before driving just over the speed limit to the boys house, chewing my lip and tapping my fingers out of impatience at every red light.

I pulled up to the house and walked in phone in hand. It was empty but Aaron was sitting in the kitchen on his phone. By this point I was honestly pissed off, he made me stop my shopping trip for nothing. Aaron stood and turned to face me because I was still standing by the front door hands on my hips.

'Well what the fuck was so important?' I hissed, as Aaron started toward me.

'Come upstairs, I'm sorry Brie no one was home.' Aaron looked sad.

'What are you talking about?' I asked throwing crazy hand gestures in the air. He looked at me with sad eyes and started toward the stairs so of course I followed. We headed towards Colby's door and I felt my stomach swirl in loops. Aaron cracked open the door to reveal a very beat up Colby.

He was sitting up in his bed. He had a cut on his forehead blood still bleeding from it, his cheeks and eye were bruised and he had multiple small cuts across his face. He was shirtless but had his blanket covering him.

'Oh my god.' I whispered hurrying over and collapsing on my knees next to Colby's bed. 'Colby, what happened.'

I bit my lip and tried to touch his cheek he winced as my fingers lightly grazed his cheek he was in pain.

'It's a long story.'
